@ChipWhitehouse Although, I agree it's weird to focus on how thin it is, it would be nice to have slightly larger battery... The iPad's M4 chip is already an incredible chip for LLMs, and it is more powerful than the current mid-range MacBook Air.

THIS is such a good point… does anyone actually give af how thin their iPad is? I mean it’s been PLENTY thin for years now. We don’t need it any thinner. It’s fine how it is! This is like when companies kept trying to make cellphones smaller and smaller…

Apple should be crushing down LLM parameter counts so they can run on-device instead. No one cares about iPad thickness, everyone wants better local AI. The marginal utility gain is massive in the latter case and trivial in the former.

@TychoBrahe As a Canadian, we have a similar issue... I had to explain to friends from overseas before that in two weeks, they cannot expect to easily visit Vancouver (BC), nip down to Seattle for a day, take a run over to Banff (Alberta) and head over to Montreal before going home.

@UK_Daniel_Card I have actually been doing this in stages with my girlfriend, I got her using a password manager and she has now changed all her passwords. After she gets used to that, we’ll start activating MFA on her important accounts, like email.

I’m trying out some of the peoples advice in the comments below on some normies right now….
It’s not going very well:
They don’t want to use yubikeys
They don’t want to setup passkeys
They think the idea of a password manager and MFA sounds annoying
I think some people have perhaps very different experiences to me when talking to non cyber folk

When the elevator closes you can see the reflection of the robot holding the camera.
The hand and footsteps are edited in for effect, but it’s a remote controlled robot actually moving and filming.

I would later miraculously mostly? recover from my brain injury, mostly the nerves. I can now see straight. My face works 99% like before. They said it was due to my age, they didn’t want to promise anything. If 48 and you get hit in the head you’re prob just fucked forever sry🤷♀️

I recently found out that people living with ADHD do not miss people.
For them, it is "out of sight, out of mind" .

@hankgreen Best I was able to do with my phone. GF and I drove from Vancouver (Canada) to Waco, TX for it and it was so worth it. No idea how to describe it to people who haven’t seen one other than photos do not to total eclipses justice.
