A five-year-old boy, Johannes Kalyangu, died at the scene after being hit by a vehicle while playing in a yard in Otjiwarongo on Friday, 19 December 2025.
According to Senior Inspector and Community Liaison Officer Maureen Mbeha, the child and three other children were sitting under a tree when a 50-year-old male driver allegedly drove into the yard. Police allege that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and did not have a valid driver’s licence at the time of the incident.
Two of the children managed to escape, but Johannes and a one-year-old girl were struck by the vehicle.
The girl sustained minor to moderate injuries and was taken to hospital.
The suspect has since been arrested and is expected to appear in the Otjiwarongo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 22 December 2025.
Cases opened include culpable homicide, reckless or negligent driving, drunken driving, and driving without a licence.
Police investigations continue.

NamRa is nuts lately there by SheIN man. Apparently they don’t have access to the package and their analogy is you are selling the clothes. If you bought one of each, open the package by them, show them and tell them its for personal use. They will reduce the tax to easily $300

I hear women say "don't settle for less" that time she's unemployed, no prospects, nothing to show for herself but selfies at places she didn't even pay for. Honestly...today's standards are ridiculous and it requires you to have a strong mind.😏
