While they were growing to $5000 per capita income, China completely ignored pollution, greenery and such luxuries. They cut every tree that was needed to be cut and allowed every form of smokestack industry to flourish. The only yardstick till that point was industrial growth & jobs for the bottom of the pyramid Once they crossed the $5k PCI mark, they gradually turned their attention to some of these things. But never at the cost of jobs India is a different situation. Reserve forests and constant noise on pollution are signals of a society captured by elites. Not a society obsessively focused on raising the lot of the bottom 40%

I wish @fia and @F1 hadnt redesigned the sport for new fans and net zero activists. Liberty Media and @fia can make more Drive to Survive, sign bigger movie deals... make ten movies. Have an episode of DTS everyday. Grow the audience, great for business. But the sport itself should remain for the purists OR atleast have something for fans who have loved this sport for decades. Get the V10s back. Get the Prius off the tracks. Cricket figured this out: T20 & IPL for entertainment. Test cricket for tradition. Grow the circus all you want. BUT.... Just don’t rewrite the sport. Let the original form remain at least in parts for us. 🏁
