Irans performance was nearly flawless until yesterday It’s like watching a cornerback intercept a pass and run it back 99 yards only to fumble at the one yard line

Overheard people at my gym celebrating the attacks on Lebanon today. Mind you, these are Lebanese people celebrating attacks on their own land. One said “but it’s sad, too many Christians died”. This is the level of dehumanization we have reached.

With all due respect, Mr. Araghchi, the ball is in our court. Israel has openly violated the ceasefire, and Iran should respond immediately rather than raising complaints with Israeil's partner in crime.
Seyed Abbas Araghchi@araghchi

The Iran–U.S. Ceasefire terms are clear and explicit: the U.S. must choose—ceasefire or continued war via Israel. It cannot have both. The world sees the massacres in Lebanon. The ball is in the U.S. court, and the world is watching whether it will act on its commitments.

The Islamic regime did not even raise Palestine as a point in negotiations with the US. Let that sink in. For years, they hid behind slogans: “Free Palestine,” “Muslim unity,” “defending the ummah” Yet when the moment came to negotiate, the only thing on the table was regime survival. Pakistan did not put Muslim interests first either. It moved to shield a terrorist regime while preaching morality to everyone else. So much for the grand moral imagery these states project. When it was time to get serious, they did not care about Palestine, the Gulf, or the broader Muslim world. They cared about one thing: their own strategic interests. Fair enough. But keep in mind, when the moment demanded seriousness, they abandoned Palestine and abandoned every slogan they spent years screaming across the region. “Free Palestine” yet they arm Hamas and fuel instability. “Muslim interests” yet not a single serious commitment toward protecting actual Muslim nations during this war. At least the UAE had the courage to face the region and the world openly through the Abraham Accords, arguably one of the most consequential diplomatic breakthroughs in the modern Middle East, WITH Palestinian statehood explicitly remaining a central clause in the broader peace framework. It’s funny really. The moment pressure was applied, the first line of attack was not against the state policy, but against religion itself: “the UAE is not a real Muslim nation.” Look at what happened in the UAE embassy in Syria. Look at what happened in the Kuwaiti consulate in Iraq. When states are too weak to defend policy, they retreat into ideology. When they cannot defend strategy, they weaponize faith. We do not negotiate with terrorists. We do not hand lifelines to regimes built on blackmail and chaos. And we certainly do not trust a truce that collapsed within minutes of its own announcement. It just proved that the regime has no authority nor does Pakistan. It’s a failed preliminary phase of the ceasefire.
