Our dear @KateDicker4 is leaving for a new adventure. Despite a pandemic & a lab move from @BiochemOxford to the @CVRinfo , she completed an excellent PhD and discovered a cellular protein that regulates HIV particle formation (stay tuned for the paper). We will miss you! 🍀🥲🥂

🧵🧵 This work has been carried out as the @CVRinfo and @BiochemOxford, led by @ManuelGM87 and Robin Truman with crucial contributions from colleagues from the @castello_lab, @FranklinSystems , @ilandavislab and @emi_aeruginosa labs.

🧵We also elucidated the interactome of #Rev in HIV infected T cells. We show that many of the proteins that are packaged with the #HIV genome interact with Rev in the nucleus, likely remaining associated with the viral RNP until they are assembled into virions.

New preprint from the @castello_lab, showing that #HIV packages its genome with over 100 cellular #RBPs into viral particles. These proteins can play critical roles, e.g., PURA and PURB binds to key elements in HIV genome and enhances virion infectivity biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
