Two weeks ago we had solar panels and a battery fitted. We have just completed our first full week with the system. Our electric bill for the week commencing 10th March 2026 compared to the same week last year has dropped by 71% from £31.71 to £9.05. We also have not received our DNO cert yet which would allow us to sell back into the grid. On sunny days our battery has been full by 11:30am meaning we don’t yet benefit from the excess free energy being produced. We are now going to buy an electric car and fill it with free energy. If only all of the UK could do this, it would go along way to reducing the countries high energy costs. @octopusenergy @g__j

@polblonde @blablafishcakes Who else is cheering the onslaught of @HarrietHarman today? Roll back 30 odd years who in politics was standing up for women? Not academics or singers or writers... In the world of mainly male politicians she was a lone voice. I remember that. And I remember Jenni Murray too.

Jenni Murray's death has confirmed her reputation as a much-loved feminist. Can't say the same for Harriet Harman.

Jenni Murray lit a spark that started a wildfire. It was her cancellation that led to the issue moving outside of feminist circles and coming to the attention of normies (like me!) It was an absolute insult for the BBC to have Harriet Harman on the Today Programme where she insinuated that Murray’s principled stand detracted from her feminism rather than forming an integral part of it.

Devastatingly sad that the brilliant broadcaster and journalist Jenni Murray has died aged 75. I have met her several times recently and was so impressed with her staunch feminism, great writing, wit, and empathy. RIP Jenni. You were a treasure and will be much missed.
