I can’t help but notice that the “save women’s sports” crowd has been awfully quiet since Trump mocked the US women’s hockey team, to the apparent delight of the men’s team. It’s almost as if they don’t actually care about women’s sports at all.

Trump despises women. He does not like seeing women succeed unless he can take credit or it's useful to him personally.
Which makes this situation even more jarring. This should have been an easy PR victory for Trump. Nothing but upside for him personally.
He could have called the U.S. women's hockey team and congratulated them, but he didn't.
But even then, all he had to do on the call with the men's hockey team is congratulate them and throw in a line about being proud of both teams.
Easy comms slam dunk but it's too much for a committed misogynist. He couldn't bring himself to do it.
His impulse was to mock the women's team because that's how he sees women.

We immediately rescheduled it for today.

I’ve heard of a few people now saying they had games or practices scheduled for Sunday morning that are cancelled. It’s kind of funny that to support Canadian hockey, thousands of normally bustling rinks across Canada will all sit empty.

why the fuck did they make the gold medal game for men’s hockey at 8am EST/5am PST for Canada/USA viewers. I know it’s set in advance but cmon, you had to expect it to at least one US/CAN to be in it and for that to be the largest viewing markets. Stupidity

After the incredible performances we’ve seen from our men’s and women’s hockey teams in Milan, all of Canada is cheering them on as they go for gold. To help everyone get in the spirit of the games, I’ve directed the Minister of Education to make sure all Ontario students are able to watch the remaining Team Canada hockey games that take place during school hours, starting with tomorrow’s game. Let’s all come together to cheer on Team Canada as they bring home Olympic gold!

Last night I said goodbye to all my friends before leaving to start a new life in Canada. It still feels surreal. My heart is full of love and gratitude, but also heavy knowing I won’t see them every day. Excited, scared, proud, emotional all at once. Here’s to new beginnings🥹🇨🇦

That’s how @NFL football works. And honestly, that’s how the Super Bowl halftime show works too. It’s not about only watching what you already know — it’s about discovering what millions of your fellow Americans already love.
Bad Bunny isn’t “foreign” to the Super Bowl — he is America too 🇺🇸🇵🇷🎶. Different sounds, same country, same game.
The Super Bowl is big enough for frozen fields, cheese hats, country music… and Spanish lyrics.

We lived in a small house so walking to the baby’s room for a change was not a hardship.
