In the last few weeks I’ve received: - 7 podcast guest invites - 18 brand partner pitches - 3 invites to host webinars - 2 invites to keynote a live event - 1 job offer (with a $430 k salary) - 1 inquiry from a publisher about writing a book - 1 invite to discuss hosting a new reality TV series (that one threw me for a loop and will probably go nowhere but… FUN!) All of this because I show up on the internet, think in public, and promote my businesses. People will say having a big audience doesn’t matter. They’re right. You certainly don’t need one to run a successful business. But, dang, it sure can open doors when you do it right.

@AlexAndBooks_ Writing a book isn’t a priority for me this year but maybe next year I’d love an intro to your friend then. I’ve had a few agents reach out but want to ensure it’s the right fit

@KateBour The people saying audience doesn’t matter are usually the same ones pretending inbound luck is just networking.

totally fair take but the part people miss is most of those opportunities are noise unless they actually move your core metrics or mission forward

@UntAaron Totally. I pass on 95% of this stuff. But say yes to the ones I know will be fun for me and valuable to my audience

@KateBour and yet the one that matters most is whichever one you'd do for free. the rest is just leverage on that decision.

The inconvenient truth about thought leadership: You actually need to make time to *think* If you try outsourcing that pesky bit to AI or a ghostwriter, prepare to be disappointed

I used to think I h-a-t-e-d recruitment BUT NOW I REALIZE: I just wasn't recruiting for the role that lights me up!! ~ 10 days ago I launched the Weird Job Board and it went viral (700k+ views) ~ 6 days ago I created a talent pool of 'AI Generalists' ~ 3 days ago inbound requests from companies hiring AI Generalists!! ~ Today I've spent my morning (with @claudeai, obvs) building the infrastructure to get AI Generalists hired asap! I'm having THE MOST FUN matching people to these roles, bc I really believe in them I said for the longest time Generalists + AI are the future workforce, and this feels like I get to walk the walk by making that a reality 🌀 If you're an AI Generalist and want to join our talent pool, reply 'talent pool' & I'll send you the quick form to submit 🌀 If you're hiring an AI Generalist reply 'hiring' and I'll send you the quick form to submit, and then send you a shortlist of 3-5 people in 24 hours! PS: I moved my desk to the window and I think we all agree it's the right choice 😅

@KateBour love this framing. in a sea of people saying really similar things, making them feel something is a cheat code. I always tell people to be anything but boring

Don’t ask: “How can I survive all this change?” Ask: “What *won’t* change?” Jeff Bezos built Amazon by asking that exact question. He didn’t obsess over competitors or waste time trying to predict the future. Instead, he built Amazon around things he knew customers would always want: ↳ Lower prices ↳ More selection ↳ Faster delivery A decade later? Still true. I decided to go all-in on UNIGNORABLE by answering that same question. AI is moving fast. How we work is changing. But people still want to buy from people they trust. Not just faceless companies. And honestly? That’s getting more true as everything gets noisier, not less. That’s not going away. Ever. The entrepreneurs who win the next decade won’t be the ones who kept up with every new tool. They’ll be the ones who knew where to focus and what to ignore. -- What’s one thing you’re betting never changes in your business?

@KateBour Look at Tim Ferriss. His idea of lifestyle design through The 4-Hour Workweek attracted millions of people. The idea created the audience.

Being known for a specific idea beats just choosing a specific audience to target. You don’t need to narrow who you serve—you need to own what you stand for. Your ownable idea is your niche.
