🚨 It’s Mythbusters time. I asked my Democratic colleagues to help me clear up the shutdown misinformation being spread by Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans.

Republicans shut down the government and walked away, leaving their constituents to suffer the consequences.   If you’re not already pissed off about that, you should be.

Just stepping out of the Capitol for the first time after Republicans officially forced us into a gov’t shutdown. It’s hard to step away feeling so angry. How is giving families healthcare they can afford our breaking point? I won’t give up on doing better by the American people.

If we enter a shutdown, members of Congress and the President should feel it too.   That’s why I’ll be joining my staff, our troops, and public servants across the country whose pay will be withheld.   It’s a small gesture, but one that is necessary as Americans pay for the consequences of our actions.

We’re 28 hours away from a shutdown and House Republicans can’t even bother to show up and do their jobs.

Trump and his friends want to bully us into silence. We must speak up.

Twenty-four years ago, our world changed forever. And so did mine.   On the anniversary of September 11th, we remember the people who lost their lives and loved ones.   Here are my reflections on the day and how it forever altered my own path to service.

RFK Jr. has shown a complete disregard for science and the health of our families and must resign. We cannot allow Americans to be put further at-risk by his lies and his dangerous crusade against basic health standards proven to save lives.

I voted tonight to support the Joint Resolutions of Disapproval because the humanitarian catastrophe and widespread starvation underscores the necessity to end the military campaign in Gaza and allow for unfettered humanitarian access. My statement on mass starvation in Gaza.

Showing up is the only way we’ll continue to create a better world for ourselves and for our kids.

Democrat, Independent, or Republican, I appreciate everyone who came out to our town hall today because they care about their community and the future of this country.

Tonight, many Americans rightfully are fearful about the possibility of escalation. Trump took this decision without consulting Congress or fully explaining to the American people. I worked in the Situation Room and warzones, and here are the questions we need answered. THREAD

The decision by the US Attorney to charge @RepLaMonica has nothing to do with enforcing the law, and everything to do with this administration’s attempt to intimidate those who dare speak against them or expose the truth. Congresswoman McIver was in the process of conducting oversight, which is her right and responsibility. It’s important that we stand up to protect that right, and I’m proud to join my colleagues to stand beside her to ensure that the people of our state can never be silenced.
