@koftownboy @evithence They don't necessarily need to have a lot of full-time employees on their payroll. Such companies hire contractors for projects, pay them contractors fees and the project is complete, both parties move on.

A young man steals GHS 50,000.
Maybe from an employer.
Maybe from a small business. He is arrested and charged with stealing.
A state prosecutor handles the case and within a year, the trial is concluded. He is sentenced to four years imprisonment. His family absorbs the shame. He’s even ordered to refund or make restitution. Now consider another story. Hundreds of millions of cedis are alleged to have been lost. Public funds which is Taxpayer money that could have built schools, fixed roads, and improved hospitals. However because the accused is a powerful public figure case is announced with “intensity” led by the AG himself or Deputy Ag.
The charges are serious and the sums are staggering millions. Even the charge sheet is circulated publicly on social media. Every few months there are “updates on the case” and assurances that “all loot will be recovered”. Then the years begin to pass and the accused is enjoying life on bail. The defense counsel moves motions, has preliminary objections, makes interlocutory appeals and clearly acts to frustrate the process. Ghanaians are to simply “sit back and trust the process”

Adjournments. One trial over 3-4 years. There will be a change in government and the new government will certain cause a pardon or strike out the case if it’s still in progress. It has already happened in the new government so there is precedent for it. To the ordinary Ghanaian who struggles to pay tax and utility bills the contrast feels painful. One person loses freedom quickly over tens of thousands but another is accused over hundreds of millions and the process stretches so long that accountability becomes uncertain. The confidence in the justice system is waning. Ghanaians now understand why politicians do whatever they can for public post. It’s not about the money. It’s judicial security to steal and cause wrong but have full protection. It is better to receive a small salary and then steal millions from Ghanaians. When justice appears swift for the powerless and prolonged for the powerful, trust erodes. The Constitution promises equality before the law. Equality must not depend on social status, political influence, or access to resources. If a system is firm against petty theft, it must be firmer against grand corruption. When public funds are lost, it is not an abstract crime. It is a hospital without equipment, classroom without desks, community without water and these are happening right now. We’re facing the direct effects and suffering from it. Justice must protect the vulnerable and must also confront power. If we want faith in our institutions, accountability cannot be selective, delayed beyond political cycles, or resolved quietly after the headlines fade. The law must speak with the same voice to everyone.

@latifadams2017 @Kweku75 That's a false statement. It's an issue of low liquidity on the market, coupled with good performance on the market. Stock holders are unwilling to sell when stock prices are increasing rapidly.

@dhat_coy_boy @CoolGodVibes @dannyvott Based on your point, what if the T-bill rates decline in subsequent period? The one investing in the 91-days lose even if he rollover

This sounds good but don't make the same mistake I did. Thankfully, people on here corrected me and I'm here to do same. That "- 91-day T-bills: ~9.9–10%" doesn't mean that you will get this percent as interest at the end of the 91 days. No. It's the annual interest rate. It increases a bit the longer the investment term. You only get a 1/4 of it. Let say you buy GHS1000 TB-11-May-26 today at 10%, at maturity, you will only get a total of GHS1025 which is some 2.5% interest. ✌️
KAY-KAY 🇬🇭@GodsonKankani

Learned something new about money today 📍📍 If you make your first GH₵150,000 and plan to buy your first car, here's a smart move instead of paying cash upfront: 1. Deposit the full GH₵150,000 into your bank account. 2. Use that deposit as collateral to secure a car loan from the same bank (many Ghanaian banks allow this for fixed deposits or similar assets). 3. Take the loan to buy the car outright. 4. Spread loan repayments over 5 years or more (negotiate with your bank). Your original GH₵150k stays in the account, accessible and earning interest. Invest it wisely in a low-effort way: - Do Lazy man's investment: Treasury Bills Split the GH₵150k into three parts (GH₵50k each). Invest GH₵50k each month for 3 months in 91-day Treasury Bills (current rates ~9.9–10% as of Feb 2026). Roll over (reinvest) principal every 3 months. Right after the third month of your investment, you will get GHc3000 interest every month thus based on the current interest rate. Use the interest to service the loan every month till you finish settling the loan. In theory, you would end up with both the car and your original money - essentially getting the car "for free". Reality check (Feb 2026 rates): - 91-day T-bills: ~9.9–10% - Car loans: Typically higher (often 15–25%+ effective rate). It works best if your loan rate is low (thanks to collateral) and you roll T-bills diligently. 🚗💰 If this was helpful, SHARE😊

🚨 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Premier League captains will no longer be required to wear rainbow armbands or pride-themed warm-up tops. The league is now considering introducing a pride-themed match ball instead. The change follows push-back from certain individual players and a complaint from a Premier League player to his own club because he was featured on the front of the match-day programme during the Rainbow Laces period for a second consecutive year. He was concerned people would think he was gay. (Source: @TheAthleticFC)

@EmmanuelCondu14 @kooSebor Now their defense is that, food prices, especially from food vendors are either the same or increasing. Thus, their cost of living is still high and driving is their means to earn a living to cater for such high costs.

GHOne TV@ghonetv

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, says 16 commercial drivers have been arrested in Greater Kumasi for charging illegal fares. The arrests followed a joint security operation targeting arbitrary fare hikes, especially among trotro operators. Offenders will be prosecuted or fined as the exercise continues... #GHOneNews #EIBNetwork #GHOneTV #NewsAlert
