So after that viral video of the Sports Minister at the airport with some Ghanaians, the Ministry has come out to clarify.
According to them:
No one was sponsored.
No delegation travelled with him.
And the people in the video? Just random Ghanaians he met while boarding.
They also insist no public funds were used for the friendlies.
Now the question is…
Are people convinced, or does the video still raise eyebrows?

Simple, everywhere looks the same when you're in the middle of a desert.
The wind covers your footprints overnight also.
So in order for the travelers to not get lost, they sleep within the circle which serves as a compass, with their walking sticks pointing towards the direction they are headed, so once they wake up they continue in the direction the stick is pointing.
There might be other reasons but this is what a friend who once tried to enter Europe through the desert shared as an experience.

SANAM CONST is one of the firms awarded Big Push road works.
1. Presently, the quality of work being undertaken by SANAM on the Todome-Toh-Kpalime-Tongor-Dzemeni road in South Dayi absolutely remarkable. The 16km Todome-Toh stretch has never been engineered the way SANAM is presently doing.
2. The evidence of the quality works I see on the ground on monitoring is totally different from what the 4th estate is alleging.
3. SANAM has employed over 50youths in South Dayi alone to work on this project. He came to South Dayi with a workforce consisting of hordes of Engineers, Surveyors, Technicians, Accounts officers, Drivers etc
4. SANAM is delivering the project even ahead of schedule. Certainly what’s happening cannot be the work of a 4 man staff of the company. I suspect a clerical error in the statement of workforce of SANAM Construction firm for his tipper trucks alone are over. 100.
5. In any case, everything must boil down to the legality or otherwise of any public or private action. So the 4th estate must tell exactly which law has been breached & how.

@Issahsalim46 @AnnanPerry If you don’t have the whole information don’t argue..and I tell you no serious contractor who can bid a million dollars contract will have less than 4 employees..running an office alone requires more than 4 employees..

One thing we are all forgetting is that construction is a project-based industry, they only mobilize full teams when active projects demand it. It is financially prudent for such companies to maintain a lean permanent staff, often consisting mainly of directors. More in Thread

Here’s the evidence from the SSNIT clearance certificate in the contract document signed between the Minister and build managers, which indicates that the company had only one worker when the contract was signed. Build Managers is upgrading the Apegusu- Mpakadan Feeder Road (9km) at GHS 146 million. Cost per kilometer of the feeder road is GHS 16 million.

Fellow Countrymen and Women , what we do at the Ministry of Road and Highways is largely engineering. Don’t be mislead by anyone with a hidden motive. No contractor in Ghana has only one staff. I am told someone mentioned the name of a firm called Sanam (4 workers per SSNIT clearance) and Build Managers (1 worker). These are contractors with many active staff working on site currently. Disregard the disinformation.

@koftownboy @evithence Construction doesn't work like that bro. You only get workers when you have a contract. Baking of bread is a daily activity, Construction is seasonal and only requires Short engagements. After work is completed everybody moves on...
