Shina, Mike had a very happy life in Tunisia, where fans of Esperance really loved him. He was well respected throughout Tunisia, actually. He was well integrated into Tunisian life. I saw this, when I was in Tunis in 2019, for a week. He married a Tunisian and has half-Tunisian children. He spent the majority of his time in Tunisia, so it is normal that Nigerians, being that Eneramo didn’t live in Nigeria, would not know much of him, in recent years. I hope you understand. 🙂

No one seemed to pay much attention to Michael Eneramo while he was alive. Yet after his passing, he’s suddenly become an online sensation, with glowing tributes from many of the same voices who played a part in his omission from the 2010 World Cup squad, despite his important contributions in the qualifiers and pre-tournament friendlies. This is a striking level of hypocrisy. 😔

@sheni_coker Fake relaxer in 2002 made me bald for 3 years. Took out the hair in the centre. I will never forget that experience. Had to hide behind braids while leaving out the middle and weave ons for those 3 years. Wigs were not common at that time, so had to do a lot of sew ins.

BREAKING!!! FIFA World Cup Playoffs: NFF appeals FIFA’s decision on petition against DR Congo The Nigeria Football Federation has already commenced the process of appealing the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, which rejected its petition against the Democratic Republic of Congo on the issue of eligibility of some players used by that country in a 2026 FIFA World Cup Playoff match against Nigeria in Rabat, Morocco on 16th November 2025. “We have received the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee on our petition, but we are not satisfied with the decision, which rejected our petition. I want to assure Nigerians that the NFF has immediately commenced the process of appealing the decision," said NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi. The NFF had presented a petition to world football-governing body, FIFA days after the said match, based on perceived fraud in the issuance of passports that qualified a number of players of the Democratic Republic of Congo for the Play-offs. The match, played at the Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, was the Final of the African Play-offs. The Democratic Republic of Congo won in a sudden-death penalty shootout, after both teams were tied at 1-1 following regulation and extra time.
