That is the fate Zenith Bank’s Mrs. Adaora Umeoji Nwokoye has been suffering since her announcement as the first woman Group Managing Director and CEO of the bank. In what is supposed to be her moment of joy, she’s contending with an avalanche of mean, nasty remarks and misogynistic bullying from insecure men with fragile egos who, instead of being happy for her, choose to question her qualifications, obsess over her looks, and ascribe her rise to a reward for sexual favors.
The most egregious of this came from a widely shared Facebook post by one Azolike Nonso Afemefuna who wrote that Mrs. Umeoji-Nwokoye looked “like a hook up [sic] girl” and that he would “NEVER take [Zenith Bank] seriously again” for appointing her its boss.

@democracy_watch Sim is a beneficiary of Wike’s ways. Dining with the devil ends in evil bondage. Hopefully the Rivers people will win. This godfatherism in Nigerian politics must be confronted and stopped.

You'll be surprised. People can be selfish and wicked. A guy I know (AS) married an AS wife in 2018/2019. His parents admonished him severally but he did not yield.
You want to know what's worse? He's a medical doctor. He has travelled abroad as at the time of the marriage discussion sef. He was mentioning "faith as small as mustard seed" and possibility of bone marrow transplant.
You can imagine the wickedness! Pikin wey una never conceive, una don dey plan bone marrow transplant for am.
Before, we were battling with educating people. Now, it is selfishness in the name of love. They're both married now o. They live abroad and I sincerely pray they don't give birth to a SS child.
It is not just worth it. If you're AS, AC, SC or SS, you should not marry any other genotype besides AA. Imagine looking at your SS or SC child, knowing you deliberately put them in that position. Would you be able to forgive yourself? Do you know how many pills they swallow daily? Those guys are warriors! I salute them all. You can only imagine the pain because you've read about it in books. Na theory you sabi o, you no sabi the practical.
Don't put anybody in the position where there's up to 25% probability that they'll suffer. Don't!

This is Senator Lawal Adamu Usman, the current Senator representing Kaduna Central under PDP.
He claimed to attend a primary school, Government Day Secondary School Gwagwalada, and Amadu Bello University.
All these certificates were submitted to INEC.
At the tribunal, the head teacher of the primary school, the director of special duties NECO, and a professor from the legal department of ABU were subpoenaed to testify and they all testify against him that the certificates he submitted are not in their records.

@ShehuSani 100%! Strengthen the corruption regulators (possibly with military men as heads). All this plenty motion without movement is leaving the wheat and chasing chaff. Govt insincerity is still the problem. Until this is tackled, CBN and it’s policies just dey play

@DeeOneAyekooto It’s always personality issues, hence this recurring ‘family affair’ coming from supposed public servants for public service. How does the Nigerian citizen benefit or otherwise from the squabbles between these old men? Serious leaders should be fighting over policies not egos.

“We have met the president, and the issues have been resolved. It’s a family affair, and there were some misunderstandings. We have resolved our differences. Those eager to see the continuation of the conflict should please sheathe their swords. We have a complete understanding now. The president is the leader of our great party; we met him, and we are very satisfied with the discussion we had with him on the subject matter. As far as we are concerned, the issues have been laid to rest....."

It is befuddling that someone such as Chimamanda often celebrated for using a God-given talent to promote our African values, will so tragically degrade that same ethos by penning a letter that is so petty, so grovelling in its tone in urging a single foreign power to withhold a mere congratulatory message to our President-elect as if that is what actually validates our own democratic identity.--Festus Keyamo (SAN)
