@MikeTilburn Hate to break it to you but all the musicians on this album were reconstituted old hippies, Ian included. They had all been in various hairy bands for years until taking advantage of the times.

One of my favourite albums. Released on Stiff records, it features the finest musicianship of the British New Wave movement. The quality of songwriting is immense.

SHOCKING. Today Reform UK Cllr, Emily Strudwick, was removed from her Licensing chair position after Liberal, Labour & Tories got together to remove her. Emily is recognised as ‘the best licensing chair in portsmouths history’ and was a finalist for a national LGA award for her work as a licensing chair. If you needed anymore proof that Lib/Lab/Con put their parties before the people then this is all the evidence you need. They removed someone’s who recognised as one of the best licensing chairs in the country because they don’t like Reform.

Laurence Fox is a wonderful actor. Since a 2020 appearance on Question Time, when he said correctly that ours is not a racist country, he has been unable to practice his craft. Loz was excited last week to be offered a lead role at Theatre Royal Winchester. The offer was cruelly withdrawn today because they said his politics did not “align” with the theatre’s. A place of art is not supposed to have “politics”. Tom Stoppard, the greatest British playwright of the past century, was a high Tory but he somehow managed to produce works of rare genius and audiences were in thrall to his talent. That’s what counts. “Without free speech there is no art,” Laurence Fox says. You may not like his politics, but his right to practice his craft should be defended. Shame on @TRwinchester for denying their patrons one of the loveliest voices they could wish to hear. A country that silences its actors is not a civilization worth having.
