@SoundOfACrowd This is so important! I always ask, "What changes if you're successful?" before starting.

@KelleSnow2 Almost as important: Productive ≠ Goal-Aligned I've had some employees produce in an efficient manner, but with no eye on why they were doing what they were doing. Usually a management failure.

Is it science that every single time you have only one meeting on your calendar, that is the exact time someone asks to chat? 🤔

Today @galeforceVC referred to herself as a “wildcard” GP and I really needed to hear that today. Cause Gale is a bad ass. I am a wild card founder with a wild card business. Here’s to the wild cards. We keep things exciting.

@JesseDraper Childcare starts with care providers! I'd love to see a start-up upskilling stay at home parents to run childcare pods and microschools in the own homes. It doesn't take much space or resources - just passionate people and effective training + toolkits.

I've talked to a lot founders about time and energy management lately. Great startups aren't build on forced exertion. They're built on passion. When I have low motivation days, I just pause. We are comfortable trusting our intuition. Why not trust our energy, too?

My 2 favorite questions while building my startup: 1. What problem are we solving? 2. How do we validate that assumption for free?

Yikes. 75% of pandemic homebuyers have regrets about one of the biggest purchases of their life. Our expert team takes care of 100% of the maintenance, a professional designer makes sure you have all the features, no hidden costs, & real estate experts select the location. ✔️

Call out the negative thoughts/risks explicitly so you can control the narrative. There IS a risk that you'll put a fear in your someone's head that was there. But what is worse is that the fear was there all along and they don't say it - and then you can't address it.

People are thinking about the risks/concerns/[insert negative thing here] anyway. By being explicit, you're communicating that you're thinking about them, too - and you're being proactive about addressing their concerns.

A communication / training pitfall I see all the time: People are afraid to bring up negative things for fear of "putting it in someone's head". However, it's actually research-supported to do the opposite. More about why in the🧵

Function is 🔑with training content - especially eLearning. The most exquisitely articulated statement in the world is useless if people don't understand it. (An entire market exists around Shakespeare in plain English) Write so that it's easy to understand the first time.

I love working from home. And for most things it’s great. However, for connecting with humans it’s hard to beat IRL. IRL > Video Chat > phone > chat (slack) > text > email My favorite asynch tool for chatting with my cofounder is Marco Polo. @morenochris IRL @beondeck #odx
