87% of people on the standard rate will lose PIP. This is effectively ending it for the majority of disabled people and yet certain politicians are lying to the press about only one in ten losing it. Call them what they are: liars.

The DWP have responded to my FoI request. Their figures indicate that 87% of clamants currently receiving PIP daily living component at the standard rate, and 13% of claimants receiving the enhanced rate, are likely to lose their entitlement if the "score 4" changes go ahead.

PIP payments shouldn't be means tested because they are meant to cover the additional cost of disability. They certainly shouldn't depend on a spouse or intimate relationship. And any changes to PIP should be evaluated for its impact on people experiencing domestic violence.

My amendment calling for a review of the problems of over-diagnosis, whether of mental-health problems or ADHD/on the spectrum autism, and its impact on scarce NHS resources. I was grateful that one of the great experts on autism, Baroness Browning, intervened and challenged me on definitions. It is always useful to be forced to be clear.
