BIG news out of Kitchener-Waterloo: the Ontario Superior Court has ruled that homelessness is an analogous ground for discrimination under s.15 of the Charter. This is a BIG step toward recognizing homeless people as an equity-seeking group under the law. Governments take note!

The PBO says governments will spend just over $1B in public funds to host the World Cup, which breaks down to $82 million for each of the 13 games in Canada. That actually works out to the cheapest per game cost, since Germany 2006 according to the PBO #cdnpoli

This is probably how this latest “pipeline” MoU is going to work: the private sector won’t build a pipeline on Carney’s terms. So the AB government will build the pipeline. Then the private sector won’t be able to economically increase production to fill a pipeline (which won’t go to northwest BC because American interests won’t allow that) so the government will have to buy out the private sector to produce carbon neutral oil for the pipeline and that’s how this will work: a nationalized oil industry that loses money.

A month before Canada opens the World Cup, I got an email from MLSE as a TFC season ticket holder. I could buy a ticket to the opener vs Bosnia at BMO Field - the price range is $1150 to $2955. The most significant match in Canadian soccer history is not sold out. Wonder why.
