The City Council’s bill to protect our schools from violent protests was common sense. @NYCMayor Mamdani vetoed it. I’ve spent my life defending civil rights and the First Amendment. For over 40 years, I’ve led protests on behalf of civil rights for all people, from anti-apartheid in South Africa to women’s right to choose. But there is nothing “civil” about protests that put children in harm’s way. This veto doesn’t defend rights. It abandons responsibility and puts a fringe minority ahead of the safety of every student in New York City. The Mayor seems more focused on aligning with a highly vocal radical movement than delivering for the millions of New Yorkers he was elected to serve and protect.

At our city-owned grocery stores, staples like eggs and bread will actually be affordable. And we're going to do it the right way, without cutting workers' pay or dignity. Because in the wealthiest city in this country, buying groceries shouldn't be an unsolvable equation. It should be simple, fair, and within reach for everyone.

For too long, bureaucracy kept seven child care centers across our city empty — spaces that should have been alive with laughter instead collected dust. We've run through that red tape. This fall, all seven will open their doors, bringing free 3-K to an additional 240 three-year-olds and real relief to working families.

ICYMI: Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has admitted the DOJ excluded images showing “death, physical abuse, or injury” from today’s Epstein files release. Let that sink in. The government is acknowledging graphic evidence exists and chose to withhold it, while redacting names tied to Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful associates, including Donald Trump. Yet, nothing has happened for months now.

BREAKING: About 120 U.S. military veterans were arrested inside the Cannon House Office Building today protesting Trump's war on Iran. Some were on crutches. Some were in wheelchairs. Some carried the burial flags of fallen soldiers. They are members of About Face — veterans who know what war costs because they have already paid for one. Capitol Police handcuffed disabled veterans and dragged them out of the rotunda. 53% of American voters oppose the war. 74% oppose ground troops. 61% disapprove of Trump's handling of it. The people who fought America's last wars are now being arrested for trying to stop the next one. Never stop connecting the dots.

The economy is teetering on the brink of 2008 again: Tariffs. Inflation. Gas. Groceries. War. Damage to our reputation and Democratic institutions. All self inflicted by Trump. Elect Democrats in the midterms to impeach and remove Trump… before it's too late.
