Nebraska Farm Bureau and the thousands of farmers and ranchers we represent thank President @realDonaldTrump for his temporary waiver of the Jones Act aimed to help alleviate the recent surge in oil and fertilizer prices due to shipping challenges associated with the conflict in Iran. As Nebraska farmers prepare to enter their fields for spring fertilization and planting and livestock producers continue their daily work managing cattle, hogs, and poultry, the prize squeeze is definitely being felt. These price increases only exacerbate the already trying economic conditions Nebraska's crop farmers currently face as well.  It is our hope this latest deregulatory action will help increase supply and in turn decrease prices for at least some of the vital inputs Nebraska farmers and ranchers rely upon. We also hope this action reignites the conversation focused on full and permanent repeal of this outdated law.

I was energized by the announcement yesterday of the effort to bring a #clubamerica chapter to every high school in the state. Charlie Kirk's assassination was a day that--perhaps more than any other--had a deep (and convicting) impact on me and my public service. He did things the right way--he talked to his opponents, engaged, tried to persuade, had courage, and did it all with a smile on his face. And he was murdered for it. The antidote to poison is not more poison. Club America chapters--which will help encourage and inspire students to think about issues, take strong and courageous stands, and to use their free speech to persuade others--will help turn the tide in our state and country. Proud to stand with @TPUSA and to encourage these chapters around Nebraska. Mike

Making America Healthy Again Earlier this year, Nebraska became the first state in the country to earn a waiver from @SecRollins to ban pop and energy drinks from taxpayer-funded food stamps. On January 1, this historic change will go into effect — and last week, I signed the rules changes to allow Nebraska to continue executing on this plan. It’s common sense to believe that food nutrition programs should actually be nutritious. #MAHA 🇺🇸

Work is important. It’s a core part of human dignity. Here in Nebraska, we believe in giving folks a hand up, not a hand out. Today, Nebraska became one of the first states in the nation to announce Medicaid work requirements. I’m grateful to partner with @POTUS and his administration — especially @DrOzCMS — to work hand-in-hand to help able-bodied people across this state get back on their feet.  Bottom line: we have the hardest working people in America and one of the lowest unemployment rates. There are tremendous career opportunities here. If you’re an able-bodied adult, you should get a job, not jump on the welfare rolls. 🇺🇸

All right guys it is time to talk about it. A lot of people keep saying I was wrong and that my information was not true, but the truth is this. I was right about almost everything all the way through. I was right about the fact that Kiffin would not coach in the playoffs and I was one of the first people, if not the very first person, to say that. My sources were strong and they were accurate. I was right up until the very end when everything flipped. LSU was never in it and anyone who knows the real story understands just how many twists and turns came in those last hours. I do want to apologize for the way I worded some things. I should not have said it was a lock even though at the time it actually was. There was no LSU. There was no confusion. I just chose the wrong wording. That part is on me. Other than that, I have no regrets. I reported the situation correctly from start to finish. I even told you all weeks ago that Lane Kiffin would not be coaching in the playoffs. I cannot control the fact that a grown man made a choice at the end to go to a place where he will not succeed. I also cannot control that one of our top boosters put a forty eight hour time limit on the table at the end. His time ran out and our boosters acted fast. Maybe they had good reason because I am liking the Jon Summerall hire and I think he can win at that price. People keep showing how little they understand about the true story when they say I was wrong. Plenty of people know exactly how right I was. The only thing I should have done differently is choose better words. A lot of people were saying Florida was not even in the race and they were way off. But it is all good. I will take this one. I will keep reporting, and I will report with even more care moving forward. #GoGators #Sec #hobbzillasports
