@DaveKent101 Please talk to your vet about individual cremation. Losing my Sam in 2007 was horrendous but having his ashes to this day brings me comfort. And the vet cut a lock of his hair for us to keep. It makes a difference. Hope you're ok.

One of the saddest and loneliest walks you will ever do is that from the vets when your dog has been put to sleep. Carrying the empty lead and collar, you then return to a house full of toys and with food bowls. It really is a devastating experience. RIP Ben 2007 to 2016.

I just don't understand why our govt isn't squirming with embarrassment 😳 The way we treat young, vulnerable animals is disgusting. You don't need to be a farmer, or a scientist, to understand that depriving a 2 - 4 week old calf of food for 30 hours, whilst being stuck in a crowded truck crossing choppy seas, is simply inhumane. DAFM is still banging on about a study done in 2017 that found Irish calves required less antibiotics on arrival at a veal farm than calves from other member states. So what. It's irrelevant. There have been numerous recent studies that prove the health of these calves is seriously negatively impacted during these journeys. The powers that be are constantly saying we must listen to the science, then they ignore all of the science 🤷‍♀️ But it's OK, over €1 million of our taxes is being used to fund a trial into another truck with a feeding system that isn't likely to work. Great use of resources 👍 It should be ready for trial next year, then it will take a couple of years for the report to be published. If it's successful it will be another few years to transfer into legislation. If it's not successful they will simply start another trial with a different truck. Meanwhile hundreds of thousands of calves are made to suffer appallingly. It's a difficult one for the Leinster council because they don't want their hurling and football championships clashing... But the Leinster football quarter finals, that have two great local derbies (Westmeath v Meath & Laois v Kildare).. Are up against R1 Munster hurling championship, the Ulster football championship ...not to mention it's quite a BIG Sunday in the soccer!
