@Kev_Bik I had a diesel and never towed far. The ev pickups hitch tow better than most F250s while beating or matching gas Raptor R or TRX performance. As long as you can make a daily pull and get home to plug in before bed, EVs are better at daily hauling.

Why would you buy a heavy-duty truck for everyday driving? Honest question. I understand if you tow regularly for work, but otherwise, it’s just a preference/statement. You can rent a HD to tow those few times. Diesel must be killing you at this point.

It’s wild how this truck can do so many things that so many people think it can’t do. Anyways… off to do some truck stuff without having to worry about the cost of fuel.

When I came out the gym today, I found my Truck with the frunk open and my backup untouched. It had a Rivian Carabiner key attached to it (I have proximity unlocking off) My iPad, Wallet and countless other crap. Just sold something on FB marketplace earlier and had 1k cash.

With gasoline topping $4 a gallon, it now costs almost $145 to fill up a Ford F-150 pickup truck, a new analysis finds. cbsn.ws/4sapScI

@SDembraski They are really cool if you have the budget for it try to find one with multiple lidar. Mine only has 1 forward facing one. The more advanced and the bigger the battery of course the higher the cost. Check out @Kev_Bik his YouTube channel has some cool reviews!

Recently the cupholders in our Lightning stopped grabbing drinks. Some Googling shows this to be a known issue. The elastic band that tightens the fingers snapped. $49 for a new assembly - or 2 common rubber bands. Works better than new now.

@brandenflasch This would explain why I saw 191kw and 125kW still to 70% at the Ionna last weekend I thought it seemed higher and just thought it had to be the chargers

This is a great update from Ford for the F150 Lightning! Gathered some data and made visuals - I bought my 2022 ER in Mar 2025 and it had the 500A CSP done when I got it, so I don't have any data for the 450A charging behavior. In short, prior to this update (can't prove it was this update, but if this enabled 500A for vehicles without it, seems the most likely update to be the trigger), Lightning would derate DCFC when DC pin temps reach ~61C and if the temps don't start to steady state or reduce, it will continue to derate until reaching a floor of about 90kW (after initial boost that is also shortened by pin temps). With this update, Lightning now allows a more aggressive curve (full boost) up to about 81C DC pin temps before going to ~125kW steady state. TL;DR: This should result in much better charging in high ambient temps (80F+), with an adapter (Superchargers) and/or with passively cooled DCFC cables (not all DCFC cables are actively cooled - even at higher power). This should make summer road trips a better experience.

Woah, @Ford seems to have quietly improved the Lightning charge curve by allowing higher pin temps (they were derating super early prior)! I need to do a proper 10-80% now.

@Mattlinn01 Hope the City officials pony up for any foundation issues since you can't water! Guess if you're on rock, you don't move much. I just forked out $5k for ours.
