After 11 years, I put in my last day as UCSD faculty yesterday. I'm incredibly proud of everything we accomplished and would never have left but for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to impact global radiotherapy with Varian Medical Systems. I'll try to do you proud, @UCSDRadMed!

Phenomenal global clinical trial effort! Negative on the primary endpoint but accrued nearly 800 patients in less than two years during a worldwide pandemic. I wonder what other clinical trial questions in this patient population we could ask with such a globalized effort?

Summer 2022 project: surfboard shaping and glassing! I decided to go with an all carbon fiber design for this 6' twin fin. The swallow tail definitely added complexity, though the fish design is a San Diego classic so it felt like a moral imperative to make this my first effort.
