I support making Standard Time Permanent This post will give 10 reasons why Every year, millions of Americans are forced to “spring forward” and “fall back” but few stop to ask why. @NathanDahm But the one we passed was to stay on DST which was a do nothing bill because on Nov. 3 we changed back to Standard Time because the Uniform Time Act only allows for Standard Time. The only way to lock the clock is to ditch DST like Arizona did.

Yes please! I’ve introduced a bill for this in Oklahoma for YEARS. We finally passed one. But we need Congress to end it so we stop changing our clocks. It’s asinine!

Standard time results in: 1) less human physical activity (people want to go outside after work, not before) 2) less retail spending (see above) 3) More pedestrian and cyclist deaths (see above x2) 3) higher petty and serious crime rates 4) more car accidents (5pm is the biggest commuting hour, the mornings are more staggered, leading to higher evening accidents) 5) higher energy costs 6) more SAD We don’t live in 1576. We wake up with alarm clocks. We have blackout curtains. And if your main fear is child safety in the morning, fix the damn infrastructure instead of making society as a whole suffer.
