@mashabani I had this funny example the other day where it didn't even know which language it was translating from.

Twitter's AI translations can be quite terrible for Arabic and Persian. In this example, "Mojtaba Khamenei" in Arabic is somehow mistranslated as "Moqtada Al-Sadr" in English. No logical or linguistic basis for this mistranslation whatsoever.

@j4yisnotreal @patskareshet They've even had an Iranian president. Moshe Katsav (موسی قصاب) was president of Israel at the same time as Khatami. They're even both from Yazd.

He really screwed himself over with land reform. Arguably one of the main reasons for the revolution. While I agree with the reasons for doing it, it was yet another instance of trying to copy from Europe without considering the Iranian context and expecting it to work.

MRP had so many great ideas, and understood what Iran needed, but was so unfit for leadership as an individual. I like to imagine what Iran could have been if the coup never happened and he acted as a figure head guiding the direction of the country, while competent statesmen built it…

@Rational_Psych On average I'd say neurosurgeons are certainly among the smartest. But they don't get their own category

Ah yes surgeons, famously the smartest of all doctors
Leslie Douglas@lesliedouglasx

@KirkegaardEmil Interesting how surgeons, the smartest of all doctors, and overwhelmingly the part of medicine that is the most male, is the most right-wing.

McMorrow attacking Piker was one of the dumbest moves I’ve seen from a Democrat in a very long time. Average American has no idea who he is but young Dem primary voters like him and polarized to El Sayed.

@idkijustthibk If it's a summer day, they could do it with Gallium or Cesium as well. If they're in a tropical or desert location, they could also do Rubidium. Given Gallium "eats" other metals and Cs/Rb explode when they come into contact with water, that would be an interesting plot device.
