I had posted yesterday, about Chennai not being the least favourite option for non-Tamilians. The usual followed: Language difficult. Food strange. Really? North Indian Languages are as difficult or easy for South Indians as the other way around. So is the food. Show me one north Indian cook who can cook a good sambar, vatha kuzhambu or aviyal. So both those arguments don't really hold water. One thing that I have noticed, after SO many years in Karnataka, is the low percentage of my fellowmen from the north, who even attempt to speak "Kannad". And I say this from just looking at my own friends' circle. So while I agree that Chennai has some unique problems of its own creation, immigrants to another state also need to make an attempt to adjust and fit in. If you expect the state to bend to your way of life, that won't happen. Ultimately however, perceptions shape where people move. So Chennai needs to figure out ways to attract talent. If it wants to, that is.

Protein is the latest fad. My grandfather died at the age of 103. No Protein supplements. Only proper south Indian food. Same quantity every day. He used to have half a spoon methi seeds soaked in water the previous night, with a spoonful of curd, first thing in the morning. Idli, dosa, sambar, sundal, Pesarattu has enough Protein for healthy living. #Protein

@NandiniVenkate3 Protein consumption is over rated… especially the grams per day per body weight nonsense…. South Indian Vegetarians who are teetotallers live fairly long with a good quality of life with just moderate daily exercise

@BansilTalpara @Neetivaan An unsolicited advice - if you want to consume 1.5 l milk daily for protein, you can make paneer or hung curd from it. It will remove most of the sugars.

Dear Kannadigas, this handle denies that Bhoota Khola is an indigenous Tulu deity and Kantara was "carefully constructed fake culture copying centuries of TN" Such supremacist chauvinist handles deny indigenous traditions of other regions to hype up their own. Do report it.

Please listen to what @KartiPC says in the video. In common parlance that is how it is understood. I have heard PC sir, Thiruma annan, Thiru. KS Alagiri and several others use the term in their speeches. You can ignore Thiruma annan if you think an atheist's word should not be taken into account, but the other two people are Hindus. Suddenly Annamalai army publishes a speech with English subtitles, knowing very well that the term has two different meanings in the south and the north and the English media pick it up and blow it up.

@Kal_Chiron What were the anti-hindu policies of ysr or jagan's govt? Apparently, you don't know the devotion of their family for Lord Venkatesha.

Concluded my Tirupati pilgrimage, 2026. Few observations since long time. Trying to articulate them. 1. The agamic and vaidik/sāmpradāyika traditions are so strong and well adhered to in temples. It is sheer pleasure to visit South Indian temples. The sanctity of deity is very well maintained. 2. Then why do I see so many Xians and Muslims in Tirupati? I understand largely due to anti Hindu state govt policies (ysr/jagan in AP, DMK in TN, Commies in Kerala). As I said yesterday, all drivers I met were ROPers. Deep (and seemingly genuine) devotion towards Balaji and Padmavathi Amma. Either taqiyya (or it’s ROL equivalent or perhaps first/second gen converts? 3. My question to ourselves is this - Where did we as a society miss out? Did we become too esoteric or distant that a section of our society is turning to other faiths (ricebag induced conversion is understood, but is money only problem? If yes then it is relatively easy problem to solve).

I welcome our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji’s suggestion to citizens regarding the judicial use of fuel and the adoption of virtual meetings whenever possible. In light of the current supply chain disruptions caused by the West Asia crisis, such steps are important for our nation’s resilience.

@KhandeshExpress @vajrayudha11 Abhi keval aarambh hai. Ek cong govt aur sab satyanash ho jayega. Guarantee to hai nahi ki cong aayegi hi nahi. Tide turn hona usko kehte hain jab pratidwandwi hamara kuch na bigad paaye, usse koi dar na rahe. Jab system hamara hoga tabhi systemic parivartan kar sakenge.

With due respect to the great artist, This is secularized version of Bharat Mata by Sangh. Sadly It’s a far cry from Bharat Mata as imagined by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhya and our founding fathers. Murti is infact in stark contrast with all the previous works of a great artist ranging from Shri Ram lalla to Gram devata that are dripping with divine aura. This one gives the impression of an artist whose creative soul is constrained by someone.

Impossible. Most of southern India, hilly/mountainous regions, parts of west and east India’ve never had it. Even the regions where it was practiced historically, have seen a huge drop. In love marriages, forget dowry, even basic courtesy expense is contributed half by each side.
Goldilocks@ChiffonSaree

Dowry is practiced by 90% of Indian families and everyday there's 19 dowry deaths in India. Stop lying through your teeth.

@vajrayudha11 OG "Bharat Mata" is in the form of cow and represents Prthvi. Given the circumstances of the time, similarities to Durga and her lion were more advisable than to Laxmi (1st pic) or Saraswati (2nd pic). Also, once the tides turn, won't take long to flip to four-handed formats.

What TN has shown today, rest of India has been doing for decades. Hindu majority states of Rajasthan, Bihar, Assam, Maharashtra and even Manipur have had Muslim Chief Ministers. Hindu majority Andhra Pradesh, Goa and Kerala have given many Christian Chief ministers. TN is just a new entry to that old club. But the real question worth probing is: how many Muslim majority or Christian majority states have given any Hindu Chief Minister? Zero. Forget Chief Minister, how many Hindu MPs or MLAs have ever been elected from a Muslim majority or Christian majority lok sabha or vidhan sabha seats?? Next to Zero.
Rajdeep Sardesai@sardesairajdeep

A Qs for those living outside Tamil Nadu: would any other major state welcome as chief minister in today’s India someone whose full name is Chandrasekaran Joseph Vijay . What TN has shown today, may India do tomorrow: respect our unique multi-religious, multi-cultural diversity and give everyone a fair shot at their dreams. ⭐️👍
