@TheDotKnows @lydiahallie Yes, Opus costs more than double (you can see it on the model pricing) And the dumber mode is not the same price, thats why they recommend it to reduce costs. Theres valid complaints about the defaults being the most expensive options but this advice is reasonable.

@FleetmasterE @pcgamer They actually explicitly said at release that it was the result of a game Jam between 2 studios and they had no plans at all for consistent updates, the updates we have gotten exist only because it became wildly popular and made enough to justify the dev time spent on it.

@pcgamer It's kinda their own fault. They set the expectations of consistent after launch support. Beyond that, the criticism is that the game isn't where people think it should be after the updates. This entirely sits in Aggro Crab, and Landfalls lap for not being entirely clear

@LoneWolfMethod @AftermathZGame That is how kickstarter works, if it doesn't reach a funding goal none of the backers get charged and the project creator receives no funding

Well we failed. I failed. I am sorry to those who did back us and wanted this game to be a reality. I'm not in the best place so I will give a proper response later when I'm in a better mindset and have an idea of what's next. Going to go speed run Requiem for a distraction.

@KenneyNL Probably an important note, the email does explain you wont lose access to any purchased assets (and you keep your license to use them), they just arent going to be sold on the store any more and the asset creator wont be able to update it anymore.

Everyone now has an 8 as the second last digit (even people born before 1987) specifically to invalidate the race component. The sex isnt in the last digits either.

@whofah324 @PlayoffTanney @ChristianHeiens The rings define the furthest cause you care about. Inner ring focus means you dont care about the aspects on the outer rings while outer focus means you care about everything up to and including those rings. (like all life vs my close family)

The whole idea was studying liberal and conservative policy choices reflecting how they weigh their morals. The inner rings make no sense when weighing those if the outer rings are suppose to include them

The development for the game was done with "free time/as a passion project," which means that they didn't primarily focus on finishing the game during their every waking hour. This is why the game famously took 6 YEARS TO FINISH.

@tasteofmycoffee @jmdagdelen This hasn't been true for years. not since Meta accounts became a thing seperate to Facebook Accounts (before the Quest 3 even released) if you _optionally_ link your instagram and meta accounts then they're the same account, but that's optional and not even the default.

@jmdagdelen If you get banned on Instagram (even by AI wrongfully), all your purchase on Quest store is instantly voided Not saying it's right to pirate, but I can see why people don't want to invest in this ecosystem

Piracy is an extreme issue on VR platforms. It's even worse than for indies on PC. Let me explain why: The norm on Quest is often >60% piracy rate of active players. VR studios are in such dire financial positions these days that the revenue they're losing often would have been the difference between them continuing to make games or leaving the industry. Meta isn't the one being hurt by the rampant piracy on Quest, they get more money out of f2p and horizon, while the studios actually making the premium games get shut down because they can't afford to keep open
