Archbishop of Imphal Condemns Ambush on Thadou Baptist Leaders, Appeals for Peace and Calm Imphal, 13 May 2026: — Most Rev. Dr. Linus Neli, Archbishop of Imphal, has expressed deep sorrow and strongly condemned the 13 May ambush on two vehicles carrying Thadou Baptist Association (TBA) church leaders between Kotzim and Kotlen villages in Kangpokpi District. The attack killed innocent church leaders and injured several others, deepening anguish and uncertainty in the state, the Archbishop said. He called it a “heinous act” against religious leaders who remain a source of hope amid ongoing social unrest. Noting fresh and sporadic violence across Manipur, Dr. Neli appealed to all concerned to refrain from violence and retaliation and instead embrace dialogue, forgiveness, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence. He urged authorities to act with wisdom, fairness, and sensitivity so that “peace with justice may prevail.” The Archbishop extended prayerful solidarity to the bereaved families, commended the souls of the victims to God’s embrace, and prayed for comfort for the grieving, healing for the wounded, and lasting peace in Manipur. #𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐊𝐈𝐌_𝐓𝐄_𝐀𝐖𝐆𝐈𝐍 @chinkukimizogin #ArchbishopOfImphal #DrLinusNeli #ThadouBaptist #TBA #KukiPastors #ChurchLeaders #Kotzim #Kotlen #Kangpokpi #Manipur #ManipurViolence #AppealForPeace #DialogueNotViolence #StopTheViolence #PrayForManipur #PeaceInManipur #NortheastIndia

Kuki Inpi Manipur Issues “Final Ultimatum” for Release of 31+ Kuki Hostages, Sets 15 May Deadline Lamka, 14 May 2026: — The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), apex body of the Kuki tribes, has issued a “final and non-negotiable ultimatum” demanding the safe, unconditional release of more than 25 Kuki individuals held hostage in Senapati District and 6 Kuki persons at Ireng Naga by 5:00 A.M., 15 May 2026. Calling the detentions “utterly unacceptable, inhuman, and barbaric,” KIM said the continued captivity of innocent civilians amid mourning for three murdered church leaders shows a “complete breakdown of humanity and accountability.” KIM warned that failure to release the hostages by the deadline will hold concerned CSOs and responsible actors in Senapati District “fully and solely responsible” for any escalation of tension, unrest, or further conflict. While stating the Kuki-Zo people have shown “extraordinary restraint,” KIM added that “patience must never be mistaken for weakness” and it will not remain silent while civilians are held hostage. The ultimatum was addressed to the Governor, DGP, and district officials of Kangpokpi and Senapati. #𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐊𝐈𝐌_𝐓𝐄_𝐀𝐖𝐆𝐈𝐍 @chinkukimizogin #KukiInpi #KukiInpiManipur #KIM #FinalUltimatum #HostageCrisis #Senapati #IrengNaga #KukiZo #ChurchLeaders #Manipur #ManipurViolence #ReleaseHostages #StopTheViolence #PrayForManipur #NortheastIndia
