I had the pleasure of meeting with Prime Minister of Serbia Djuro Macut on Serbian National Day here in Athens. We discussed our shared goals of energy independence and expanding energy connectivity across Europe, including through regional projects like the Greek-North Macedonia Pipeline. 🇺🇸 🇬🇷 🇷🇸

Great to see this deal finalized after 2 trips to Greece last year to promote the production of reliable and affordable energy that supports our shared security and prosperity. Partnerships like this are strengthening Europe’s energy independence and creating more American jobs!

Under the leadership of President Trump, the United States aims big, and we deliver. In my first 100 days in Greece, we have brought the United States-Greece partnership to historic new heights. And this is just the beginning!

NEW: I’m coming back to Greece NEXT WEEK to celebrate the 100-day mark for @USAmbassadorGR @kimguilfoyle and the 250th birthday of the United States to do a huge interview with the Ambassador in the birthplace of democracy— Athens—at this key forum called Nisyros Dialogues — going to be massive and hopefully the first of many great things with our amazing friends in Greece this year.

Upon the conclusion of my visit to #Washington and my participation in the Delphi Forum, I had the opportunity to meet with the U.S. Secretary of Defense, Mr. @PeteHegseth, in the presence of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Mr. @ElbridgeColby. During the meeting, I had the chance to explain the Greek positions on a broad range of regional issues, the strategic challenges we face, as well as the effort to reform the Hellenic Armed Forces under “Agenda 2030”. I also referred to a series of defence contracts signed with the United States, including the acquisition of F-35 aircraft, and discussed how these contracts will be implemented in the best possible way for the Hellenic Armed Forces. Finally, I extended an invitation to the Secretary to visit Greece and we will be happy to welcome him; to my recollection, US Secretary of Defence visits to our country are rare. I was delighted to visit Northern Greece, meet with business leaders and discuss how we can open markets for U.S. businesses and increase Greek investment in the U.S. I also met with our fantastic @USConsulateThess team in Thessaloniki - gateway to the Balkans and a key Greek economic and technology hub. This trip has underscored the strategic and cultural significance of northern Greece, and its vital role in the U.S.-Greece relationship.
