My heart is full! I got to drive our middle & high @avlcityschools students to the Special Olympic Games @tcrobersonhigh. It was a day filled with races, fun activities in the Olympic Village, farm animal exhibit, & the best part was smiles, laughter and encouraging classmates.

Our five elementary schools participated in the yearly Battle of the Books challenge on Friday. Thank you 🙏 to @pruett_john for being the moderator and @IBJMediaCenter for hosting the 2023 event for @AVLCitySchools. Outstanding display of sportsmanship by all schools.

Spent Friday with school counselors, therapists, and social workers from all across Western North Carolina obtaining my Youth Mental Health First Aid certification. Essential learning for how to better serve our students.
