OPERATION HADIN KAI DEBUNKS FALSE CLAIMS ON BENISHEIKH INCIDENT, REAFFIRMS PROFESSIONALISM AND OPERATIONAL SUPERIORITY The Headquarters Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has noted with serious concern the circulation of false, misleading and highly exaggerated reports across some television stations and social media platforms following the recent foiled terrorist attack on troops’ location in Benisheikh. These narratives, often amplified with unrelated pictures and videos, are not only inaccurate but constitute a deliberate attempt to distort facts, undermine ongoing military operations and erode public confidence. OPHK categorically refutes the claim that 17 soldiers, including a Brigade Commander, lost their lives during the incident. The official and verified report, as earlier released through Defence Headquarters, clearly stated that 2 officers and 2 soldiers paid the supreme price in the course of the engagement. Any contrary figure being circulated is entirely false, misleading, and devoid of credibility. The insinuation that the Brigade Commander’s vehicle was unserviceable is equally incorrect. The Commander was mounted on a high-grade Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, which was temporarily immobilised in the heat of combat while he was actively coordinating the counter-assault. This reflects the intensity of the engagement and the presence of leadership at the decisive point, not any equipment failure. Furthermore, the pictures and videos being circulated in connection with the incident are unrelated to the Benisheikh attack and are being deliberately misrepresented to reinforce false narratives. The public is urged to disregard such content, which is clearly intended to misinform and create unnecessary panic. The Nigerian military strongly frowns at the distortion of operational facts and the use of such unfortunate incident for personal/political gains or propaganda. Such actions not only mislead the public but also diminish the sacrifices, courage, and professionalism of officers and men who continue to risk their lives daily in the defence of the nation. The Armed Forces of Nigeria remains professional and committed solely to their constitutional mandate. It is pertinent to reiterate that troops of Operation HADIN KAI successfully repelled the attack, maintained control of their location, and forced the terrorists into a disorganised retreat. The failed assault underscores the sustained pressure on terrorist elements and the growing combat effectiveness of troops across the Theatre. The military remains the only credible source of verified information on its operations and will continue to provide timely and accurate updates through official channels. Members of the public are therefore advised to rely on such sources and refrain from spreading unverified information. KADUNA, 10 APRIL, 2026: We, the Civil Society for Good Governance and Accountability, rise with heavy hearts but unshaken resolve to address the ongoing tragedy in Kaduna State, a tragedy compounded not only by the incessant and systemic violence by armed terrorists, but by the dangerous complicity of state actors who have chosen denial, deception, and persecution over truth, justice, and the protection of innocent lives. We speak because lives are at stake. FACTS OF THE ARIKO ATTACK. On Easter Sunday, 5 April 2026, heavily armed terrorists launched a devastating attack on Ariko Community in Awon Ward, Kachia Local Government Area, storming the First ECWA Church and the Catholic Church while worshippers gathered in peaceful worship. 5 people were killed in cold blood, and 38 others were abducted. This attack on 2 houses of worship on one of the most sacred days of the Christian calendar is not merely a security failure; it is a civilizational and eerily familiar affront that demands the most urgent and honest response from every arm of government. @HQNigerianArmy 's FALSE CLAIM OF RESCUE. In the immediate aftermath, @HQNigerianArmy issued a widely circulated statement claiming to have rescued 31 of the abducted victims. This claim was inaccurate. The inherent contradictions of the statement revealed unfortunate efforts at propaganda by the Army rather than a plausible effort at the rescue of the abducted and the protection of vulnerable communities. As of the time of this release, today, all abducted persons remain in captivity. The families of victims have maintained direct contact with the abductors, who have themselves confirmed that the victims are in their camps. The Kuturmi Unity Development Association (KUDA) issued a statement signed by its President, Dr. J.D. Ariko, and Publicity Secretary, Hon. Manasseh Samuel, on 6th April 2026, stating that: "Contrary to the reports being circulated, all the abducted persons are still in captivity with their abductors. This clearly invalidates any claim of a successful rescue operation." THIS IS A PATTERN The false rescue claim in Ariko is not an isolated incident. On 18 January 2026, armed bandits abducted 177 worshippers from three churches in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru LGA. The @PoliceNG and the Kajuru LGA Chairman initially denied the attack that occurred. Only sustained public pressure forced an acknowledgment. The playbook is unchanged: deny, deflect, discredit, then concede only when pressure becomes unbearable. This pattern must end. The people of Kaduna State are not statistics. They are human beings who deserve truth, dignity, and protection. PERSECUTION OF TRUTH-TELLERS One of the most alarming dimensions of this crisis is the active persecution and oppression of victims and those who dare to speak the truth. The Honourable Speaker of the Kachia Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Mark Bawa, gave a press interview published in the @MobilePunch on 5 April 2026, addressing the reality of the Ariko attack. In response, the Executive Chairman, Dr. Manzo Daniel Maigari, issued a directive on 7th April 2026 suspending Hon. Mark Bawa indefinitely. The suspension letter alleges the Speaker "misrepresented the true position on ground" and failed to attend a meeting with the GOC of the Nigerian Army's 1 Division "to clarify and possibly apologize," calling it "a deliberate attempt to sabotage the efforts of Government."

Plateau: troops arrest three suspects over illegal structure in Mangu By: Zagazola Makama Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have arrested three suspects in connection with the erection of an illegal structure in Kombili village, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. Security sources said the incident occurred at about 11:00 a.m. on April 7 when troops of Sector 8 responded to intelligence reports on the construction of the structure by some individuals in the area. On arrival, the troops apprehended three suspects allegedly linked to the development. The illegal structure was subsequently demolished by the troops. The suspects are currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action.

A Spanish boy 🇪🇸 was rescued in the village of Daɗin Kowa in Doguwa Local Government Area, Kano State. Alex Ansol, a 16-year-old, arrived in Nigeria on March 30, 2026, via Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, with four of his siblings. However, he became separated from them while traveling from Jos to Saminaka. The boy speaks English, is slim, dark-skinned, and has no visible tribal marks on his face. He gave his address as: Barsa Rub, Opposite 46 Stadium, Spain. The police are working to locate his siblings so they can be reunited with Alex.
