Last night, at the 8th National Convention of our great party, the APC, in Abuja, we elected members of the National Working Committee (NWC) who are truly round pegs in round holes. Their emergence reflects the deep confidence we have in their capacity to provide purposeful leadership, strengthen our party structures, and lead us to even greater heights, including a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections. I also commend our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose sterling leadership, inclusive governance philosophy, and unmatched political experience were evident in the peace, orderliness, and sense of brotherhood that defined the convention. It is yet another demonstration of what disciplined leadership can achieve. With the conduct of this rancour-free convention, our party has once again set a benchmark for democratic practice in Nigeria. Democracy is about the people, and once again, we have demonstrated that truth.

A former Governor even said there was no position of ‘National Leader’ in the APC constitution , a clear attempt to diminish his role. But here is what they underestimated; political memory, structure, and patience. Because while the noise was loud, the groundwork never stopped. The Dangote Refinery has lowered its gantry fuel price by N75, bringing it down to N1,200 per liter. Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, said,“Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has reduced its gantry price for petrol to N1,200 per litre and its coastal price to N1,153 per litre, a move that comes amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East that continue to influence global oil markets. “The adjustment marks a downward review in the refinery’s pricing structure and is expected to influence fuel supply costs across distribution channels, including depots and retail outlets.”
