@MartinSLewis @CornwallInsight It’s simple. The government introduces a fixed tariff for the first 10 units used per day for each household. Anything above that is at market rate. At lease households could then afford to live.

@rcolvile In 2019 there were some 4.5m ‘gig economy’ workers, many of whom have recently been reclassified as employees following court decisions. This must account for some of the shift to employment.

(If anyone puzzled by the stats - as others have pointed out in the comments there has been a big swing from self-employment to payroll, plus another cohort of graduates/school leavers entering the workplace.)

@longdeaw @bbcquestiontime @hughosmond @Peston It wasn’t self serving at all. It was based on evidence produced by SAGE that confirmed that preconceived assumptions were baseless. Pubs and restaurants are far safer had been assumed.
