WHAT 🤯 A man in his 40s with inflammatory bowel disease, was assessed outside a Tim Hortons, offered MAID, AND driven by the DR to the assisted suicide facility, and killed by MAID 🤯
I honestly thought this headline was fake, but it’s real
Welcome to Canada 🇨🇦 I feel sick
@JarvisAeneas Moreover, the term "Climate change" is used to create a false dichotomy in which it is assumed that earth's climate is perfect, and static, except for the effects of humans.
The earth's climate is always changing, and Co2 is not a primary driver of this change.
I’m starting to think that I’m the only right-winger on this platform who believes that climate change is a real phenomenon.
Not saying it hasn’t been exaggerated in the media, but I just don’t see how you can wholesale reject it.
@JarvisAeneas Well, you need to be a little more specific.
"Climate change" as it is presented in modern educational institutions and our fake news media is a lie intended to paralyze the west.
Does earth have a Dynamic climate? Yes.
Which has a greater impact; humanity, or the sun? The sun
@DahliaWest13@reddit_lies Jeez bro. Your dad was a piece of shit and a dead beat. We get it. You don't have to throw shade on all of the real men out there, just because you come from limp-wristed losers.
It is what it is.
The husband wasn't going to lift a single finger to raise that child, because most husbands never actually do.
And I can see how an accidental pregnancy at 40 yrs old meant a severe shortening of Mom's life because she would be the only one actually raising that child (feeding, dishes, laundry, cleaning) for the next 18 years while hubby napped on the couch while telling everyone "they" were raising another little one.
And there's a HUGE chance the baby would have Down's Syndrome or other issues due to a geriatric pregnancy, which of course Mom would be expected to carry the full load of by herself while dad naps on the couch.
@JustTee23@financedystop Understanding reality ≠ contempt.
It's not high skill job. That doesn't mean it's not hard work.
You're assuming I have contempt for them, and I therefore must get bad service.
I get great service because I go to high end establishments.
You're just virtue signaling.
@KingTerpene@financedystop And still you come across as holding contempt for the servers? It's not virtue signaling. I did my time in the service industry and had my fair share of abusive customers. It's why I treat everyone with respect and appreciate the job they do. And I get fantastic service for it.
@ripcurl_the@financedystop He stays very busy, and he does about $65K gross per month.
You're saying he just needs to make another $40K in gross sales.
Not possible without more staff, and more tables.
The only way to increasing his gross by 50% and not cut his own pay is to raise prices by 50%.
@KingTerpene@financedystop So assuming you're not just full of shit, the number would be at least 4k entres. So he would need to raise prices on only entres by about 20 cents. Which does not seem like a big deal and is nowhere near 50%
@ripcurl_the@financedystop You're conflating raising prices, with greater sales volume.
He can control his prices. He can't control how many plates he sells.
His margin is still the same on every plate.
You're assuming he can just sell an additional 4K plates a month...
@ripcurl_the@financedystop 4K entree's, at an average price of $10, with a 9% margin would yield him about $3600 profit and would cover the $1 raise...
Problem.
That would be increasing his monthly sales volume by 40%.
He would need to hire more servers, and add more tables to turn over that many orders
@JustTee23@financedystop Now I'm an executive (CSO) at a PCG manufacturer, and I enjoy rewarding great service with $100 tips.
I don't operate under the assumption that the restaurant is making me subsidize the servers wages with tips.
I realize most servers are low skill, and paid what they're worth.
@KingTerpene@financedystop Again, if you treat your server with the contempt you are bringing into this post, it's no wonder you believe most servers are low skilled and low effort. They aren't going to try hard with someone most likely searching for reasons not to tip.
@ItchyJack_@financedystop That's utterly untrue. Where have you been?
In Europe, restaurants charge you significantly more for less food, and the service blows.
They don't wait on you. They make the same money whether you eat there or not.
In Europe, they act like the customer is an inconvenience.
@HengShichirou@financedystop I agree.
I go to places that charge me $12 for a good burger, and then I tip good servers FAT.
My point is that if you think servers should make more money, tip them more or expect higher bills.
The service fee is just the restaurant itemizing food and labor separately.
@KingTerpene@financedystop It's deceptive and unethical. If the burger costs $24, don't market it as $20. If your restaurant is gonna play bullshit games to deceptively nickel and dime their customers they can go fuck themselves. If they surprise me with this shit on the bill, your tip can go fuck itself.
@ripcurl_the@financedystop His gross is about $65K per month.
He takes home $6K, which is about 9% profit margin.
$880 x 4 = $3,520
At a 9% margin, that's an additional $35K per month in sales.
So he would need to raise his prices by 50% at least or cut his pay by 60%, which is how pays his bills.
@KingTerpene@financedystop Why are you avoiding the question?
How many entres do those 22 servers push out? How much would he have to raise prices per entre to cover that 880?
@JustTee23@financedystop It's not feelings, it's a fact.
The vast majority of server positions have no prerequisites.
The skills can be learned on the job, like fetching drinks, rolling silverware, and writing down orders.
The people skills get you tips.
High skill servers don't complain about wages.
@KingTerpene@financedystop Oh, I thought you were defending adding a surcharge. That's just a deceptive practice.
As for serving being a "job for teens" and most are low-skill and low effort, it's either your attitude toward them or the places you visit because it's not my experience by a long shot.
@ripcurl_the@financedystop 5% margin means the restaurants makes $0.50 for a $10 plate.
They have to sell 2 more plates per hour, or charge more.
How many restaurants have 1 server? My brother owns a BBQ joint. 22 servers.
22 X $1 X 40 hrs = $880 a week
My brother only makes $6K/mo. after expenses now.
@KingTerpene@financedystop $1/hrs x 8 hour shifts is $8 per server per day. How much do you think they need to raise prices to hit 8 dollars per server per day????
