@KishwerFalkner
Cross Bench Member of the House of Lords. Former Chair, Equality and Human Rights Commission, Former Member, Bank of England’s EDMC.

Baroness Falkner allegedly described a trans woman – Emma Laslett – as a “bloke in lipstick” at an official Board meeting of the EHRC – comments reportedly rebuked by the Commission’s Chief Executive at the time.

It would be bad manners to comment on decisions of my estimable successors at the @EHRC David Isaac and Kishwer Falkner, both appointed in much the same way as I was.But I served a three full terms at CRE/EHRC under both Labour administrations and Tory/Lib Dem coalition…..1/5

EHRC chair Baroness Falkner just said on @BBCr4today , responding to Forstater ruling, "we all have a right not to be offended". This is wrong on every level. There is neither a legal nor a 'moral' right not to be offended, and it is essential we never go down this path

"I think diversity of thinking is critical to solving problems together. We don’t solve problems together if we groupthink." The new chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission @EHRC @KishwerFalkner speaks to @emmabarnett 🎧 bbc.in/39yf41A

Pleased to announce @KishwerFalkner as my preferred candidate for the role of @EHRC Chair. She brings significant commitment to equality and opportunity. I look forward to working with her at this pivotal time.👇 gov.uk/government/new…

Yesterday UK decided to remove #Huawei from its networks by 2027. Today Chinese state media call for "public & painful" retaliation against the #UK. The irony: European companies haven't been allowed to roll out #5G in #China either. #EU should be clear in standing by 🇬🇧 on this.

Libertarians! If you object to being forced to wear a mask on health grounds; then wear one because it will slow the government’s adoption of facial recognition technology.

Average incomes of over 75s are higher than families with kids. They have lower poverty rates than under 75s. ifs.org.uk/publications/1… Even those on pension credit are better off than many working age welfare recipients. Hard to make case for special treatment on economic grounds
