.@TrevorImmelman on Aaron Rai's closing stretch at the PGA Championship on today's Fried Egg Golf Podcast: "I really hope that people in the coming weeks, and months, and years appreciate the greatness of that stretch of golf. "If Tiger had done that, if Rory had done that, if Rahm or Scheffler or any of the guys that we love to root for had done that, we would've been fainting from excitement, and talking about 'This is why these guys are so good. This is why they're the best players in the world. This is why they're multiple major champions. These guys just have another gear to get it done.' I really do hope that Aaron Rai gets that same respect."

@BeavBlammy2 To say players weren’t punished for missing fairways doesn’t really ring true. I don’t remember seeing too many birdies made from the rough - but they were scrambling for pars. The birdies to win? Rai found them playing from the fairway.

@KitOnTheCourse Rai was an anomaly. 8/10 of the top 10 were top 25 in driving distance. Weren’t really punished for hitting driver poorly. But putting was also extremely important. Rai was only guy in top 10 to finish top 20 in driving accuracy. Heckuva round by him. Course setup was not good.

Aronimink set-up has been criticised but the player who did everything well won. Some played great tee-to-green and putted poorly, wayward drives were punished even if long, others excelled on and around the greens. Rai was the best player right through the bag. As it should be.

47th MC 43rd WD 46th 26th MC This was Aaron Rai’s 2014 season on the EuroPro Tour. It was his 3rd season as a pro. That year he made….£886…for the entire season The next year on the EuroPro he came into their final event needing a good finish to get into the top 5 of Order of Merit and get his Challenge Tour card. A final round 67 got him into a playoff. He lost but jumped to 5th in OOM and barely earned his Challenge Tour card. A couple of seasons on Challenge and then onto DP, then PGA Tour and now a Major Champion. Pretty awesome.

What a wonderful location at @GolfVilladEste for the inaugural Hickory Masters. This club has hosted more Italian Opens than any other (12), the course looks amazing and the clubhouse is absolutely dripping with history.

@auSportArena @HPlanner_Tour @PGATOUR Many brilliant moments every season but always amazing to see the guys kick on and have success. I still remember he was ready for a play-off and Neergaard-Petersen missed a short putt on 18 (having been brilliant all week and season). Those little moments can change everything.
