He Fell 30 Feet and Was Told He'd Never Walk Again. He Became a Teacher.
Ronnie "Tre" Lawson was 17 years old, somewhere on a Georgia backroad, when everything changed in an instant.
It was 2017, Tre was a teenager outside Macon, Georgia somebody's kid, somebody's classmate, riding in a car late one night when the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle drifted off the road and dropped 30 feet into a ravine. When they found him, Tre had a brain injury, abdominal trauma, and a spinal cord injury at T12–L1. He had no sensation from the waist down. The doctors were careful with their words, but the words were hard. He might not walk again.
Stop and sit with that for a second. Seventeen years old. A whole life laid out in front of him, and suddenly, a 30-foot drop and one sleepy driver had rewritten all of it.
"He had every reason to give up. He had every reason to be angry at the world. He chose neither."
What happened next wasn't a movie montage. It wasn't fast or clean or painless. It was months of rehabilitation learning to move again, millimeter by millimeter. It was the kind of effort that happens in a PT room with no audience, no applause, just sweat and frustration and starting over the next morning. Slowly, painstakingly, partial movement returned. His body, against the odds, was fighting back.
But Tre never stopped his education. While he was relearning how to use his legs, he was also using his mind, studying, pushing forward, refusing to let the accident steal his future on top of everything else it had already taken. He wasn't going to let a ravine in Georgia write the last chapter of his story.
He graduated. He got certified and He became a teacher.
Think about what that means for a moment. Think about the students who walk into his classroom,the ones who feel like life has handed them something unfair, something too heavy to carry. They have no idea who's standing at the front of the room. They don't know about the ravine, or the hospital, or the mornings he had to decide, again, to keep going.
"Sometimes the thing that was supposed to stop you ends up being the very thing that makes you understand why you needed to keep going."
There is a version of this story that ends in that ravine. There is a version that ends in bitterness, or silence, or a quiet life of what might have been. Tre Lawson chose a different version, one where he gets up every single day and pours everything he survived directly into the lives of young people who need it most.

There was blood everywhere & my mom was panicked.
She was 4 months pregnant with me & rushed to the doctor.
"Go home you're having a miscarriage, there's NOTHING you can do you're going to lose your baby" she was told by multiple doctors.
My dad had recently left her for another woman.
It all seemed hopeless.
I believe the enemy thought he had dealt my family a KNOCKOUT BLOW.
BUT GOD.
Instead of go home, my mom recruited an ARMY & PRAYED RELENTLESSLY.
•She prayed for me.
•She prayed for my dad.
•She prayed that she would become a more Godly wife & God would restore their marriage.
43 years later her prayers were answered.
My folks celebrate 49 years of marriage this year.
GOD RESTORES THE BROKEN.
God renewed my dad & when I was one he came back home & started going to church.
He now leads addiction classes at his church & pours into other men.
My parents mentor young couples at church.
Friend, if it all seems hopeless please know one TRUTH today:
You can't.
God can.
You should let Him.
You are always one prayer away. 🙏
