@SimoneTron This is new and very specific to Google News. Kiwi displays Google News on the home; to do such, in the background, Kiwi renders the page using Desktop Mode, and then displays the information. Somehow the setting gets stuck while activated. It will be fixed in an upcoming update.

@kiwibrowser I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong after the latest update as sites show the Desktop version even if this option was always set to off...

@Mack_Web3 @GaspodeWD @fableborne @AxieInfinity @ParadiseTycoon In general (valid for all browsers), if you have a wallet running inside the browser, no matter the platform, it's always good to keep most of your coins & tokens in a hardware wallet, like with a @Trezor or @Ledger and then only transfer what you need (or technically can).

I love mobile gaming these days! Who can you spot? And who is missing?

@RealBonio @OpenWebAdvocacy @Google In reality it's not that bad, it's a relatively small side-feature, and we are also thankful to @Google and the amazing @ChromiumDev / @googlechrome team who usually deliver excellent code and openly share a significant and useful part of their work. So, there are good points! :)

@RealBonio @OpenWebAdvocacy I will check in a couple of days to see whether it is better to hide the menu item, or another solution. Technically the issue is "WebAPK minting servers are restricted to competitors". We probably will have to fight a bit with the regulators, or chat with @Google, or go our way.

@raichubender I can recommend you to take the /src repo if you want to fork, you’ll see that one is very easy to build and has everything included + there are not so many changes in comparison to /src.next (which is super complex as Chromium often changes). Have fun :)

@kiwibrowser Ah, OK! Saw the injected style sheet and guessed it was of adware. I jumped to conclusions too quickly. My bad... Thanks! 😀 Yeah, I plan to actually fork Kiwi and do some experimenting with it. I like to do desktop stuff on my phone 😁

Why is Tab For A Cause auto installed on @KiwiBrowser, unlisted and non-removable?

@raichubender If curious (I saw you enjoy programming) you can see that part is injected here: #L51" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/kiwibrowser/sr… including the small CSS (cosmetic) snippet that makes some of these CMPs invisible.

@raichubender So the strategy here is something different: what Kiwi tries to do is to: 1) block the hosts as much as possible 2) then press "I accept" (in the background); -> as funnily enough, "I refuse" is often much slower and results in broken website, 3) then actually block the tracker

@bullmos @keplrwallet I can check the issue with Keplr, is it the Connect window just not opening ? or something else ? Generally this happens when the developers of an extension create a window that is invisible and decide to make it visible at a later stage (on mobile it works a bit differently)

@VictorieeMan When you display personalized ads or content from a law perspective it’s safer to ask for a broader consent. So if we want to display ads or experiment with it then we don’t have to nag user with it. In practice Kiwi doesn’t cost much to maintain so we don’t really need ads.

@VictorieeMan At some point in the past there was AdMob integrated in Kiwi as well that was displaying native ads between the ads, fully optional (!), so could be disabled easily. We weren’t sharing any info with anyone about browsing history or user profile; Kiwi doesn’t even collect such.

@kiwibrowser How does "keep your data private" square with "personalized ads"? That obviously implies that personal data is used to personalize ads, which isn't fully keeping the private data promise. #privacy
