We must reiterate: unless a statement originates from our official channels, it is meritless. For too long, our culture and heritage have been exploited for personal gain. The very name "Tongva" is a colonial construct—a label manufactured and forced upon us by modern-day colonizers, frauds, and "pretendians." We will no longer allow our identity to be dictated by those who seek to profit from our history. We extend our deepest gratitude to those sharing this post and standing with Billie Eilish’s message. It was an honor for the Kizh to attend this event and the expanding of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument.

As part of our Administration’s unprecedented commitment to protect America’s natural wonders for future generations, President Biden signed proclamations this week expanding the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument.
