The catalyst for everything that’s followed post takeover. Statement signing, leader and genuinely the best full back we’ve had in my lifetime. Not many teams he wouldn’t have walked into when he first arrived, set the standard. Will miss his presence for sure. #NUFC 🖤🤍

Thank you, Tripps 🖤🤍 After four and a half years of incredible service to Newcastle United, we can confirm that Kieran Trippier will leave the club this summer when his contract expires. Kieran arrived in January 2022 with the club in the relegation zone and played a crucial role as he went on to lift the club’s first domestic trophy in 70 years.

@toontong85 Think he’d tick a lot of boxes, and if memory serves me I think there was a lot of noise about him getting the job when the takeover was first mooted during Covid, so maybe the Saudi’s had an eye on him then

@NE5westend That day and the Spurs 6-1 were our peak performances of this Howe era, regularly turning up and running over teams. We’ve managed it in flashes since, cup final and PSG, but them couple of months were top.

@Joe__McL Big thing for me is keeping the spine strong, lose one or two key players again like we did last summer and the project is thrown back years. Need to build. Hopefully Eddie and Wilson aren’t wedded to the PL for signings like we were last summer.

@Joe__McL 100%. Didn’t get the DCL slander in the summer, whenever he’s faced us in the past he’s always been a right handful. Would’ve been much more suited to our system than Wissa too. Summer window was shambolic.

This is where I’m conflicted. He can’t play the PSR card after the summer, we wasted good money on bad players. The thought of him having a summer to spend again and sign your Solanke/Taverniers’ worries me massively, especially with the quality that’ll be going. A mess. #NUFC

O’Nien centre half for them too. Looked amateurish at their place in the cup a few years ago, but barring the goal barely troubled, tells you everything you need to know about our attacking “threat”. No idea where the club is moving forward, we’ve fucked it. #NUFC

No they’re not. Nobody at Newcastle has heard anything about this, so there are no talks let alone advanced ones.
Does that mean there is no truth in Manchester United’s interest? Well that’s a different question but as things stand there is nothing going on.
It’s March and I think a #nufc player has been linked with another club every week since December.

@lawesdisorder Yeah have to say he does have a touch of the Brambles about him doesn’t he. But for a class Burn last ditch tackle he would’ve cost us another howler tonight. Mentality shift following their pen/HT was alarming, and not the first time it’s happened either.

@Kniller_ Thiaw is somewhat overrated in general. Bit like Bramble in that he can be elite for 89 minutes then cost us a game with a daft mistake. Good player but you can see why Milan were happy to sell too.

@RichWillAVFC Not so sure. He tends to shoehorn his favourites in at times, and it’s detrimental to the XI. For the money we spent in the summer mid table is well off what should be expected. Truth is it was a season to kick on, and instead we’ve gone backwards. You too 👍🏼

@Kniller_ Ye fair but if tino is fit he starts ahead of trips n im guessing botman ahead of burn. I feel he escapes a lot of criticism for being an English manager as an outsider. Newcastle are far too good a side to be mid table. Good luck tho rest of season 👍🏻

@RichWillAVFC He’ll need to evolve his methods. First half today was good but marred by individual errors for their goals. Should’ve been more savvy in that second half and kept in the game for as long as possible. Also needs to drop his loyalty, likes of Burn and Tripps done at that level.

Solid defensive display at Chelsea, then takes Botman and Tino out and replaces them with ageing Burn and Trippier for Barca in the Nou Camp. Questionable to say the least. #NUFC
