This is self-parody: the U.S. bombs Iran relentlessly for weeks, kills most of the country's top leadership, and sinks an Iranian ship off the coast of Sri Lanka, but when Iran fruitlessly fires two missiles at a U.S. base, it gets described as "serious escalation."

In 2015 an unnamed senior Iranian official met Henry Kissinger in New York and explained Iranian foreign policy vis a vis the United States with reference to Immanuel Kant's idea of perpetual peace at the endpoint of exhaustion from conflict:

@TheEconomist has utterly destroyed its reputation with its deeply racist and profoundly bigoted coverage of the mass-murder of the people of Gaza. For six months we have seen issue after issue of scandalously one sided-coverage which has has made it complicit in the continued enslavement of the Palestinian people, the on-going seizure of their land, the systematic abuse of their human rights and the industrial slaughter of their innocent civilians in both Gaza and the West Bank. Shame on its senior editorial staff responsible for the travesty of inhumanity and bias. @zannymb
Mairav Zonszein מרב זונשיין@MairavZ

Am I the only one who found the Economist cover a bit melodramatic and jumping the gun? Israel still has full US backing and other countries and is not under nearly enough pressure to stop the war. You know who is alone? Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem

Things are heating up, I wonder if the Field Marshals desire to kick out Pk Shia leaders to Iran also apply to tens of millions of regular Pakistani Shia Muslims? Will he wait for them to get Irani citizenship before bombing? It would be a bit rude to bomb Pakistanis in Iran...
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto ذوالفقار علي ڀٽو@BhuttoZulfikar

Why call a meeting of your Shia Ulema council only to threaten them and tell them Pakistan is not their country? At least they didn’t desire to nominate a pedophile with a Nobel Peace Prize. At least they value the lives of their fellow Pakistanis. At least their Qibla is Makkah and not Washington!

As part of the 1956 invasion of Egypt. Ben-Gurion wanted to topple Abdel Nasser, take the Sinai, dissolve Jordan, and conquer and settle the south of Lebanon up to the Litani. This was 8 years before the founding of the PLO and a quarter century before Hezbollah existed.

For a man so reliant on goodwill of Christians in the United States, Netanyahu's open disdain for Jesus Christ (PBUH) is remarkable. His unbridled praise for Djingis Khan, the worst slaughterer our region has ever seen, also fits with his current status as a wanted war criminal.

“What moral authority does the US have over my country, which has lifted 800 million people out of poverty?” At the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Hong Kong Legislative Councilmember Dominic Lee calls out the West for using 'human rights' to attack other countries.

The sanctions on Iran are so effective that we must lift the sanctions to harm Iran Then we will steal the unsanctioned oil from China
Rapid Response 47@RapidResponse47

.@SecScottBessent: In the coming days, we may unsanction the Iranian oil that's on the water. It's about 140 million barrels, so depending how you count it, that's 10 days to 2 weeks of supply, that the Iranians had been pushing out, that would have all gone to China. In essence, we'd be using the Iranian barrels against the Iranians to keep the price down for the next 10 or 14 days, as we continue this campaign. So, we have lots of levers.

When I was in my 20s I wished to deepen my understanding of the Israel-Palestine situation. So I purchased at least a dozen books - mostly semi-obscure, academic, many by dissenting Israeli historians. A day came when I closed a book halfway through, resolved to read no further, even to try to forget all I had learned, and then I donated all the books. It was clear, painfully and miserably clear, that I would be wasting my life trying to understand it more when it was nothing more than this.

this statement reeks of zionist obfuscation tactics. 1. ignore the unprovoked US-Israel aggression that started the war (as well as the cruel sanctions and previous unprovoked attacks preceding this one) 2. ignore Iran's repeated efforts at diplomacy. 3. ignore Iran's decades long restraint, not retaliating after repeated unprovoked attacks (downing of civilian flight, Israel's assassination of their scientists, assassination of Soleimani, assassination of Haniyyeh on their soil, and so on). 4. pretend the dozens of massive US military bases surrounding them in neighboring countries and use of their airspaces have nothing to do with the merciless aggression against Iran. 5. name Iran's retaliation and self defense as irrational aggression. 6. condemn Iran. 7. flip the script to make it seem like Iran is attacking its neighbors without provocation.
