The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is a fantastic glow up over the original, thanks to its good pacing truly allowing moments to shine like a bright star. All the best parts of the first are fired all cylinders especially the action and narrative.

also to add onto this, flynn's idea of a character sounding "human" is really limited
the end of sa2 was able to have dialogue that let these characters talk likes humans WITHOUT sacrificing their role as cartoon characters separate from total human logic

So yeah, voices definitely have an influence on the writing Flynn writes Sonic with Roger's voice in mind and he tailors his lines to be able to hear Roger say them And he likes the current because he feels like the characters speak like people and not cartoon characters
