Attended design crit today, no work was shared via Figma. Everything was vibe-coded prototypes!

Who the freak gave Tai Lopez $230,000,000?? 660+ retail investors from social media campaigns (I’m not joking). An average of ~$350k each! Allegedly: - Tai took $12M for himself - Mehr took $3m - Millions raised for acquisitions were spent on operating losses So how did Tai convince 660+ people to invest money in Pier 1, Radio Shack & Dress Barn?? Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. They ran a high pressure sales approach with zoom calls, events and trips to PR all sourced from their social followings. The red flags were all there: - Investments were unsecured notes (debt). THEY DIDN’T EVEN OWN EQUITY! - 25% preferred returns - No regulatory filings or registration But here’s where it gets really unbelievable: The President, COO and Chief Risk Officer was 38 year old Maya Burkenroad with 10+ years experience managing multi-million dollar companies. How did someone so experienced let this happen? Because that was a lie. Maya is Tai’s cousin who, before this, was: - a substitute teacher - radio station promoter - assistant to Tai I don’t get it. I do not understand how they raised $230M from 660+ investors. I don’t think I could raise $1M and Tai is out here raising 9-figures. Dude is an incredible salesman. Wasted talent. Mind blowing
