A lot of men are not being ‘disrespected’ in their relationship, they are just being accurately confronted for the first time in their life. If every time she names a pattern you hear it as an attack, you will keep turning ordinary feedback into destructive arguments. It is easier to label her as ‘disrespectful’ than is it to admit you have never learned how to be in a relationship where your comfort is not the main priority.

“Women are just as bad as men.” Okay. Then show me men being gang-raped by women at scale. Show me adult women trafficking adult men for sexual exploitation. Show me laws written to control men’s bodies and reproductive autonomy. Show me sororities known for drugging and raping men. Show me men living with the threat of gender-based acid attacks. Show me men being killed for rejecting women or for trying to leave relationships. When those things start happening on a systemic level, then we can have a conversation about women being “just as bad as men.” Until then, stop pretending the scale of harm is the same.

HR warned a Gen Z employee that leaving exactly at 5pm every day shows “lack of dedication.” The next day the guy stayed until 6pm. At 6:01 he walked into HR’s office and asked where to submit the overtime form. HR told him it wasn’t paid overtime. The Gen Z guy went back to leaving at 5pm.
