Something to ponder as you head out to vote today, for free. In the Library's Rosa Parks Papers collection, there's a receipt for the poll tax she had to pay to vote in Alabama in 1956. Poll taxes, a Jim Crow-era voter suppression tool, were not abolished federally until 1964.

They want you to work until you die. They’ve rolled back child labor laws. They are banning abortions to “increase the supply of babies.” Do you get it yet? We are their peasants.

BREAKING: A judge ordered Cobb County, Georgia to send over 3,000 ballots to voters via express mail, and accept those ballots if they are received by 5pm on November 8th. This is a major victory for voting rights.

#CO8 GOP candidate Gabe Evans opposed a ban on corporal punishment in public schools. He's a member of a group that defends Christian homeschooling parents against allegations of child beating. I asked when it's OK for an adult to hit a child in public school. He declined to say.
