This is excellent news! Wallbounce cancel greater hurt the growth of the game with casuals. Who would want to stick around and play when the person opposite of them is flying back and forth and your shots aren’t registering? Also great to hear we can move reload to top right

@GhostaSnuggles @PaulLivo Sounds like a skill issue or age issue one of the two. I was never good at the wallbounce. For me it came down just a skill issue. But got good and now might be an age issue. So you got one of the two.

@PaulLivo Brother. No one with a brain that’s been playing since gow1 wants the absolute abhorrent bouncing that came from tu6 gow2 and even more ludicrous gow3-5. Strafe and the occasional bounce is great. Wall cancel is trash.

Seen the claims that E-Day will not have legacy bouncing, this comes after a literal decade of players requesting a Gears 3 style PvP I still believe the game will be brilliant, the PvP may still be brilliant. But I wanted to purchase a Gears game and with all of these changes, it will not be "Gears" Cancelled my Pre-Order and will just play the campaign on Gamepass for a month when it comes out Ah well, could've been what I'd been hoping for but i'm used to it now

@DownEastHabs @Pirat_Nation Blind on a war that died ages ago. Think about players not Xbox vs Sony. We started doing cross platform in 2017. Why are we going backwards. Crazy thing is cross platform was in the early 2000s but when consoles decided to be a war that was lost from 2008-2017.

Bloomberg reports that Xbox CEO Asha Sharma pulled a planned Halo: Campaign Evolved trailer from PlayStation’s State of Play at the last minute, even though the footage was reportedly captured on PS5 Pro. Sources say the decision may have hurt the relationship between Xbox and Sony, showing that the rivalry between the two companies is still alive despite their growing cross-platform efforts.

As an ex gears pro… wall-bouncing not being the meta form of movement may actually be for the best. It’ll take time to adjust but it’s definitely a step in the right direction when it comes to growing the game as a whole. #gearsofwareday

just gonna add rq for the narrow minded They said already that wall canceling is not entirely gone but it’s not as strong as it was in previous titles. If you think the only skill gap in gears comes from how fast you can bounce then idk what to tell you movement with a purpose>

I don’t think Gears players understand how saved the franchise will be when wall bouncing isn’t the centralized mechanic anymore

Starting to think I made a mistake pre ordering E-Day and I accept it was entirely my fault From the footage we've seen, the movement doesn't look like Gears I think I might be best off cancelling / refunding my pre-order and just getting Gamepass for a bit when it releases so I can play the campaign Will probably wait until the weekend to see whether the devs clarify before I get my money back Silly me!

@Lizard_King117 @nyc_prophet Activision has a contract with Sony. When you buy a company the contract does t just disappear. Now when its up Activision can be exclusive to Xbox.

@nyc_prophet Xbox and Phil Spencer really shot themselves in the foot by giving PS all their exclusives. It made no sense either, like you guys buy Bethesda and Activision so you had good game studios and then just gave all those games to PS anyways?? So fucking dumb.

The amount of anger and resentment i see over Gear Of War E-Day being exclusive to Xbox/PC and never coming to PlayStation is wild it's like most everyone is okay with PlayStation and Nintendo having exclusives but how dare Xbox make some games exclusive the whole gaming industry loses their minds

@slimishshady @nyc_prophet Xbox never wore the crown. Xbox even said they minus on consoles they make more on subs and windows subscription. And to be frank they make all their money on the windows subscription. So cant dust a crow. When the crown was never worn by them.

@nyc_prophet Now I personally wanted gears on PS for the longevity of the game and the competition. Yeaj Sony hates us but that's been since day one. Nothing new. So why are we going to have that mindset when we could be the change? And have actual war on games instead of a console war.
