At the risk of repeating myself, let me say this--China imports more oil from Russia than India. Turkey is the biggest importer of Russian oil in the western hemisphere. The European Union's trade with Russia stood at $77.9 billion in 2024, higher than India's $68.7 billion. But there is no point is talking about facts when the purpose here is to use Russia's war as an excuse to attack only India.

I'm so old I wrote that! That's assuming it's the Windows version, which is the one I worked on. The Win9x game, art, and original code, were done by Maxis/Cinematronics. I ported it to Windows NT, converted the x86 asm to C, made it work on RISC, and so on. Success has many fathers, and all credit should really go to the original designers... I'm just the fun uncle that brought it to the masses.

You would have grown up reading Chandamama as a kid, and would have loved reading Vikram-Vetala stories, and that iconic image. Today is Jayanti of the artist behind that image Karatholuvu Chandrasekaran Sivasankaran, or better known as Artist Shankar. Hailing from a village near Erode, he was passionate about art since childhood. He started his career with Kalaimagal in 1946, but it was with Chandamama/Ambulimama that he gained recognition. He was the last of the original Chandamama design team, and had passed away in Sept 2020, but was posthumously given the Padma Shri in 2021. #Naman to this genius who made our childhood that much better.

@saneblab @sadaashree It's great to get to know you here sir! I tried a lot to meet him once as he was a huge influence on my childhood, and Artists Sankar and Chitra are still a regular feature of my conversations with my father about our love for Chandamama.

@sadaashree Thanks for writing on Ambulimama (as in Tamil) & about my Appa, Artist Sankar.🙏 Chitra & Appa started as artists around 1946 but when Appa joined Chandamama in 1952, Chitra was 6yrs his senior! Besides Vapa, other 2 also drew cover illustrations those days.

The Chandamama trinity, the 3 great artists who created those memorable pictures in the magazine. Shankar, Veera Raghavan( Chitra) and Vaddadi Papayya Gaaru( VaPa). These 3 men were with Chandamama since the start, bought alive our Puranas, Janapadas( folk tales) with their drawings. Thanks @Krishnagaaru for sharing this with me.
