@tomfoster66 @deniseshrivell About $15billion extra difference, each year.
Better than a poke in the eye anyway.

@deniseshrivell @KristenLock1 I wish him well in this endeavour. However, like all other MP/Sens in Parly, he’s not shown any sign of offering economic policy alternatives that sit outside the neoliberal paradigm. So how much diff could his party offer?
I suggest he looks outside the mainstream 4 ideas

This!

Israel can torture and sexually assault Australian citizens with no consequences.
Good to know.

Australians tortured and sexually assaulted by Israelis — tasered in face, beaten, ribs broken, zip-tied facedown in pool of water, injected. Is our Australian government any more than “concerned” yet? instagram.com/reel/DYnqZ74z3…

@DavidPocock @VernVerass NACC, gambling, and gas = all unfinished Labor business. Will they sort it out by the next election - if not be massacred in the polls. Theres only so much constituency abuse a constituency will tolerate. #communityindependents

The resignation of Commissioner Brereton from the National Anti-Corruption Commission is a chance for a fresh start and an opportunity to rebuild public trust in an institution Australians fought so hard to establish.
The NACC was created to hold the powerful to account. For it to do that job well, Australians need confidence in the person leading it.
The Government must now appoint the next Commissioner through a process that is independent, transparent, and merits-based.

Time’s up. The Albanese Government must do better, to stop Australians being the world’s biggest losers, with gambling losses of $87 million every day.
We must ban gambling ads and establish a national regulator.
After waiting 1000 days, the Government’s response on gambling reform is underwhelming, but the public support for stronger action is overwhelming. The crossbench is united in asking the Government to listen to Australians.

I don't think it's fair for the government to change the tax rules for Australians and Australian small businesses but rule out changing the tax settings for major multinational companies from data centres to the gas industry.
Australians deserve a fair return.

Liberal leader Robert Menzies built houses for Australians because even the coalition thought that housing was a human right.
Menzies government had a national housing commission that built cheap and affordable housing for Australians.
The right wing government of Robert Menzies was more socialist, more progressive and more sovereign thinking than the Anthony Albanese Labor government, who is giving money to private developers to build houses a profit, or raising dead shit policies that put all the pressure on first homebuyers.

We need to keep up the pressure because pressure works.
It's time for a 25% gas export tax.

Secrecy of Govt is cultural. Culture is set by leadership. But our leader is addicted to secrecy. The Auditor-General’s #FOI report is just more evidence of a betrayal by @AlboMP who, in opposition, promised greater Govt transparency. #liar #auspol theguardian.com/australia-news…

I am hosting a roundtable in parliament house in June alongside @spenderallegra & @Mon4Kooyong so parliamentarians can hear firsthand from students about the devastating impact graduating with this much debt is having.
We will also hear from Prof Williams & experts about the solutions govt can + should adopt to reform the failed job ready graduates scheme. We can't keep kicking this can down the road if we're serious about intergenerational equity.

Luxembourg is the world’s first nation to offer free public transport for all, tackling traffic and climate change in one bold move.
Luxembourg has pioneered a bold new era in urban mobility by becoming the first nation on Earth to eliminate fares across its entire public transport network. This groundbreaking policy covers every bus, tram, and train route nationwide, offering free rides to residents, cross-border commuters, and visitors alike.
Financed through general taxation rather than ticket sales, the initiative was designed to tackle the country's severe traffic congestion—once among the worst in Europe per capita—and to sharply cut carbon emissions from road transport. By removing the cost and hassle of tickets, Luxembourg effectively turned public transit into a basic public service, as essential and accessible as clean water or electricity.
The impact has been profound and measurable. Ridership surged as people left their cars behind, leading to noticeably less road traffic, shorter commute times, and a meaningful drop in urban air pollution. While first-class rail options remain a paid upgrade for those wanting extra comfort, the standard second-class system is now truly seamless: hop on, hop off, no barriers.
Luxembourg's experiment has demonstrated that removing financial obstacles can drive a genuine shift toward sustainable travel habits. It has also served as an inspiring model for other countries and cities grappling with sprawl, gridlock, and climate goals. In an age when radical solutions are needed to address the mobility-climate crisis, Luxembourg proves that treating public transport as a universal right is not only feasible—it can be genuinely transformative.

The gas industry is panicking & spending millions to protect billions in profit from exporting our gas.
But no amount of glossy advertising will stop Australians demanding a fair return - a 25% gas export tax to make exporters finally pay their share.

Price caps are an essential feature of the govt’s aged care reforms that introduced co-payments to protect older Australians from price gouging.
They were due to commence on 1 July but have now been delayed indefinitely. I coordinated a letter supported by every non-Labor parliamentarian to the Minister warning against this delay.
This isn't good enough given the number of reports we’ve already seen of people being massively ripped off.
Yet another aged care implementation fail hurting older Australians.
