@rick_malek7 @doctorow Thanks. This article perfectly captures my own experience and thoughts on the matter, and manages to end on a note of hope.

@TheRegister So you can work for the government directly for £35k, or work for one of the consultancies for £80k, doing the same job. Can't imagine why people are choosing the latter.

In other words, why should the American taxpayer pick up the tab for cleaning up and regulating the mess crypto left behind when crypto is a net negative on our society and produces nothing for the taxpayer. At least companies produce actual products. twitter.com/smdiehl/status…
Stephen Diehl@smdiehl

The strongest argument for "let crypto burn" is that investments that are completely detached from any capital formation or physical goods have no societal purpose, it's purely gambling. And regulating it consumes public money and resources, all for no public benefit.

@EmmaBostian may be from someone from an underrepresented group? In which case giving a min to get recruiter/candidate chance to resubmit might be a smart move that doesn't cost you too much time.

@_AlexYates_ Yeah agree I was not correcting you in any way, just thought it was a really good point that probably needed addressing the world over.

@_AlexYates_ mmm agree but we should be talking about systemS as this is probably an issue with work visas in a lot of countries. Though I concede the US is likely to lead the world in treating people the worst.

Everyone running a crypto project is either a nutter drunk on Hayekian drivel and techno-gish gallop or is intentionally trying to take advantage of people. However, the line between fraud and delusion is very blurry. Equal parts fraud and delusion stirred into one scam cocktail.

@ask_aubry What a year 2019 was. Those assuming his suspension has anything to do with this might want to consider what else he might have tweeted since 2019.

CEOs should read this, it will help them stop talking about watercooler conversations as a universal force for good in the world. #remote #office

“It’s the workplace’s fax machine moment. We shouldn’t hang onto the fax machine any longer than we need to. Companies that force people back into office go from Zoom to zoo — the office becomes a zoo because no one knows why they are being forced back in.”
