@robbopalmer @EFL why have sympathy for the EFL - its there inadequate rules that have led us to this. Spying i.e. cheating = demotion. It would never happen again. Its because of this fans are in the position they are in. Tackle it at the source.

All this fuss because #boro bottled being in the top 2 for 200 days and then won just 2 from their last 12 games. An iPhone from 200 yards away did fuck all and you know it. Just milking it because you couldn’t finish your chances, the 1st leg in which we apparently had the advantage for, you should have been 3-0 up by half time, yet you weren’t, you were horrendous Tuesday night aswell, this is why you are not in the final. Not because a young lad with an iPhone 200 yards away, but because you’re simply not good enough. You lost fair and square #saintsfc

Exactly what I’ve thought, this case is currently completely being overwhelmed with media noise which is quite bizarre and our team was completely unsettled in that first leg, they should have won the first game 3-1 in my books. Personally I understand Boro but it’s a bit much.

If the EFL do not punish Southampton to fullest extent, i.e. expulsion from final - what precedent does this set. Is spying before semi-finals allowed but at a price. In the context of the potential monetary gain from promotion, is this just not a worthy hit to take #boro

@cj_garrett It also sets a terrible precedent if you are not punished for cheating at such high stakes to the fullest extent. Basically spying is allowed but with a small fee. Which in context of the promotion money is small change.

This whole thing is absolutely crazy. To kick us out would be a completely ridiculous over the top punishment, and then it would create a very large legal case against the EFL for loss of earnings. It’s such a mess. Just fine us and get on with it. Boro don’t deserve it

The problem with cheating is that it destroys the idea of a fair contest. Once one side gains an unfair advantage, there can never be an honest winner because the game no longer starts on equal terms. Football is built on competition, preparation and tactics - not spying.

@sainthudson Its beyond who played better on the day - your club made sure of that. The decisions made to spy on us beforehand meant that any sportsmanship and good faith was out the window so don't start preaching about media, when this is all on your club for cheating in the first place.
