I tried this last year and it's ballllleeerrrr! Basically Arkham Asylum combat but with guns. Was super fun!
They've also apparently built their own proprietary animation system for it as well which is crazy 🤯

The appeal for classic combat is just a strong desire for the finishers. I mean look at this video he's referencing. It's a finisher showcase, NOT a combat showcase.
We want the cinematic style finishers back, but can we not pretend the old one button counter kill combat was superior gameplay to literal hitbox based combat? You are lying to yourself at that point.

Assassin's Creed's classic combat system with those FIRE finisher animations will ALWAYS be superior to the new RPG damage numbers combat with enemies that take 50 slashes to defeat just because you don't have a purple sword. We need a return to this.
